Seems the villa we are staying at is open those additional nights which is a good thing because I did not realize how limited your choices were when you have 5 people and only need 2 nights. Places suggested were booked, wouldnt do the time frame or just not workable for a family of 5. I think it wo...

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Funny all these options sound familiar but when I need them I cant remember. Found a couple of villas open those dates and inquired on 2 nights. They are places I have considered renting and would love the opportunity to check them out for a couple of nights. We ...

2 night stay - Ideas??
Any suggestions appreciated. We booked a villa for a week starting next weekend and they would only book it through Saturday rental period. Our flights are back on Monday. Villa now has a rental inquiry on those additional nights so it looks like we need to find a 2 night option. I checked with the ...

I have to say I have never tried 36 hours. However we just use the soft liner from our backpack cooler (Chillibox), pack frozen items on the bottom and cold items (unfrozen cheese, lunch meat..) on top and our frozen items are still rock solid at 18-24 hours with no techni-ice. I would imagine with ...

Thanks for the feedback. As mentioned we have been to the Baths once before but that was the Caneel trip and it was really layed back. A few hours at the Baths on your own to explore and snorkel then lunch and a few hours at Little Dix. So now I have done the research and will leave it up to the lad...

Pia, thanks I will take you up on that. Attempted to PM you. Buffalogal - that is what we are considering. One of our more enjoyable parts of the last trip there was sitting up at the bar (Mad Dog?) and having a few drinks after our explore. Of course we then went to Little Dix to chill out which is...

More research. Two of our crew have questionable sea legs at times so a bigger boat would be better for that long of a trip. Now looking at Cruz Bay Watersports. Its a big boat and offers the convenience of leaving from Westin OR just taking the ferry over. Old topics I was able to find on this seem...

Baths from St. John - Suggestions?
Things worked out this year to do 10 days and our kids (3 ages 12-17) have never visited the Baths. Just curious what others recommend in getting there. Public ferry, group, private? We did our first trip on Caneel's ferry. I dont want the kids stuck on a slow ferry breathing deisel fumes for two ho...

solomon
This is in my top three places to be on island. Along with Maho in the afternoon I would consider it my mental happy place. I would call 12 people at Solomon crowded. We generally do not see over 5 or 6 people there and we go during off-season. I was shocked in our late October trip this year to see...

The baitfish were out in full force on Friday turning the water black along the shore. Tarpon and stingrays swimming (literally) against your legs and over your feet at times if you gave them the chance (very cool experience). Outer water was pretty murky for Maho but we were able to see an eagle ra...
