Losing a wedding ring while snorkeling must be a pretty common event. My husband lost his when snorkeling back to Jumbie from Dennis Bay.

I think they get to an age when the odor just can't be controlled anymore. However we do the following: 1. Hang everything to dry as soon as he gets home 2. Sterilize guards and pads in the dishwasher on the top rack. To keep my car from smelling bad, I have my husband drive him in his car as much a...

Virgin Gorda Help

Hi folks - after 5 trips to St. John we have decided to give VG a try. It has not been easy to get information because there are no VG books equivalent to the St. John books, "Off the Beaten Path" and "Foot, Fins and 4-wheel drive". I am hoping that the friendly folks on this for...

Gromit - you may want to check your reservation online. We are on flight 655 on May 25, 2009 and I just noticed last night that it now leaves at 7 am. It could just be a one day thing, but AA is not good about letting you know when the flight times change.

Didn't one of the forumites have to visit the eye doctor in St. John when he lost his glasses on the way to the BVI? Or was it when he got hit by the ceiling fan?

Anyway I remember him talking about an eye doctor on St. John.

We take the bus at least once, if not twice, during each visit. During our trip this summer I took special notice if it was running on time or not. It was considerably more punctual than it has ever been in the past. It may have helped that one of the busses was new. If one of the busses is not runn...

Along with what you have on your list, we sent snorkels, flippers, toiletries, books and filled in the spaces with sunhats and a t-shirt or two. If you are shipping to Connections, be sure to call Cid ahead of time. She will give you very specific directions on how to address the package. Ours only ...

We were there a few weeks after you and saw the same thing at Salamon - a guy came up to shore in a small boat, filled two buckets with beach sand and then sped away. I'll have to show my husband you picture to see if it was the same guy. I was in the water without my glasses on, so it was a bit blu...

Thank you for all of the responses. I do realize that we could run into nakedness at any beach. My husband and I shared Denis Bay with Nekkid Guy for a whole day once. Solamon was the first beach we went to on our very first trip to STJ (in 2000) and we were the only ones there WITH clothes on, so I...

Lurker questions

Hi all - now that I have de-lurked (thanks X) and our trip is two weeks from today, I have some questions. Is Salomon beach family friendly or still pretty much the unofficial clothing optional beach? We always go to Honeymoon, but recent trip reports have talked about crowds at Honeymoon so I was c...

'could it have been Buster?'

I was thinking the same thing. There is a report on Frommers (or Fodors) about the Buster incident from one of the people he was after.

nothintolose - we weren't planning on telling the children at all and having them figure it out when we get to the airport and the gate says San Juan. However, they will figure out we are going somewhere when we spend the night before at a hotel by the Newark Airport. We usually don't tell them that...
