STJ Part 9 - "Every little ting, gonna be alright"
STJ Part 9 - "Every little ting, gonna be alright"
You probably know by now that you're not going to be getting any fine dining experiences in this report right? So if that's what you've been waiting for forum people, I'm afraid you're just S.O.L cause it ain't happening! There will be no La Tapa, no Asolare, no ZoZo's, and most certainly no Chateau Bordeaux, cause well, unfortunately for this Sushi loving girl, that's not how I have to roll with my picky food peeps. Anything with those kinds of names and those kinds of menus are off limits do to the "exotic" factor. Sucks to be me!
This morning on the island of love, MOST of us woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed in anticipation of beaching, boozing, snorkeling, boozing, island hopping, boozing, boozing, and boozing. Have I mentioned boozing? I had spoke to Cap'n Trueman of Fly (me) Away Charters oh I guess about a month or so ago and he said he'd hook us up with a real good time! Works for me! After a quick bowl of Golden Grahams, some sunscreen rubdowns and throwing on our suits, Honey asked something that messed up my chi. "What time do we meet up?" Ummmmmmmm...umm...hmmm... "YOU DON'T KNOW?!" "I know, give me a sec." followed by urgent paper shuffling, followed by "cough it up trip plannerl!" At this point since I'm feeling backed into a corner, the a$$ formerly known as Honey is REALLY starting to grate on the nerves. "WELL?" So to rectify the potential hazard of screwing up my island boozing tour, I did the only thing I could and just blurted out a number on the dial. "7:30!" Yeah, that's it. I mean, I remembered but I just couldn't remember ok? So Honey says "I guess we better roll out then." Umm, sure, so off we went. We were having a nice, scenic, drive out to Coral Bay listening to some choice tunes and stopping to snap some pics every now and then and after a bit, made it to our destination and pulled into the parking area. I'm looking around and looking around but of course nobody's home. Honey starts giving me the evil eye and me being uncomfortable with this, I hopped out of the Jeep to have me a little walkabout. I walked down to the tiny dock and still nobody's home. Walk back to the Jeep and now not only is Honey giving me the evil eye but Drama Girl and her sidekick are getting into the action too. Awesome! Pretty soon I hear some grumbling about getting up at some fricked up ungodly hour for nothing and then the grumble is louder and louder and louder until Cap'n Trueman pulls up, introduces himself, tells us it's going to be one hell of a great day, and then....."but you're here an hour early." Isn't that a pi$$er! I'm avoiding all eye contact with my traveling companions as he tells us to go grab something to eat or a cup of coffee and be back in an hour.
<a href="http://s87.photobucket.com/albums/k138/ ... C00581.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k138/ ... C00581.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Off we went, me with my tail between my legs from being sufficiently chastised, deciding to have a leisurely drive further out to the East End. Drove slowly, stopping along the way for several photo ops and made it all the way to the end of the road where we flipped around to head on back the way we came. Somewhere along the way, and Rick, just so's you know, I'm not making this sh*t up, I could see a local man standing in the middle of the road up ahead wielding a machete (this sorta thing happens often me thinks) knife and stalking back and forth. Honey slows down a bit, the smooth sounds of "don't worry, bout a thing" is flowing and as we approach the man, he starts screaming for someone to "GET THE HELL OUT HERE M.F.R!" Critter Boy has been silenced into stone, you gotta know Drama Girl is having a conniption fit in the back seat "DON'T STOP DAD! OMG! DON'T STOP! DON'T STOP" and Honey slows down further, comes right up upon him nearly stopping and says "morning" while machete man proceeds to start beating the hell out of I'm presuming MFR's Jeep on the side of the road, bashing in the windshield, slicing off the side mirror, I mean screaming and freaking the hell out. Apparently after that first moment and Drama Girl's throwing herself on the floor, Honey decided we'd better skip-a-dee-doodle on outta there and so we did; the only sounds coming from the Jeep were some "omg, holy shit, omg" muffling and a sweet little voice from a little man with the big wary eyes softly singing "cause every little ting, gonna be alright" over and over and over again. "Woke up this morning, stared at the rising sun" and I'm thinking, must be his form of personal trauma therapy, "three little birds, upon my doorstep." The poor little fella. "Singing sweet songs, of melodies pure and true". Better bust out the mommy hugs. "This is my message to you..ooo...ooo" over and over and over. He even made us replay the song after it was over. Over and over and over. The really cute thing is that every other time durring the trip that he felt the slightest bit anxiety, he'd start singing that song. I will never be able to go without smiling for the rest of my life whenever I hear it. So that experience was umm, interesting. Yeah, that's it. Interesting.
Arriving back at the dock, with Cap'n Trueman behind our heels, we park the Jeep, grab our gear while Cap'n grabs the ice and we're off! First stop was Great Harbor on Jost to check in with customs and to grab a beer at Foxy's. Yeah, that too! Before we even had the boat tied off, Critter Boy flies up out of the boat running down the dock "WHERE'S MY DOG?! WHERE'S MY DOG!? I knew he was searching for Taboo cause them two were glued at the hip last trip. How cute is that? We followed him all the way to Foxy's where by now to his ultimate delight, he was giving much loves to and playing with Taboo, then we copped a squat up at the bar for a chill while Drama Girl perused the gift shop selections. Let's just say that a spot of shopping was her personal form of therapy from the morning's events. Pretty soon Trueman pops over to join us, then indulging in a game of musical beach bars, we all headed over to Corsairs for a Bloody Mary and some shop talk.
<a href="http://s87.photobucket.com/albums/k138/ ... C00588.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k138/ ... C00588.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
After some sad goodbyes to Taboo, Critter Boy bought a handmade beaded, leather, surfer boy choker and we head out to Sandy Spit (a first for me) where we anchored and the four of us jumped out of the boat for the first snorkel of the day. The snorkel was pretty good and I was really getting into it until I saw the Jelly and then I freaked and swam for shore cause I don't do Jellies. This ended up being a really great idea though cause I decided I could get my workout on by running around the island a couple times. Once around and ok, we're good then. Laid on the lovely sand for a spell then back out for one final snorkel before hoisting anchor and heading out. Musical bars you know. I LOVE that little island though! What a beauty she is!
<a href="http://s87.photobucket.com/albums/k138/ ... C00596.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k138/ ... C00596.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Next stop is White Bay where we had a couple destinations in mind. Drama Girl is starting to bi*ch cause she's hungry and wants a grilled cheese at Jewels(?) but since nobody's there we pop over to Seddy's place where Raquel started feeding us the Bushwackers. Soooo good, Yum, Yum, Yum but Cheese Girl is still bi*ching cause she's hungry so she ordered the Chicken Quesadilla and Nick ordered the Hot Wings while we ordered a couple more Bushwackers. Good Times to be had! We added our John & Jane Does to the bar then said goodbye and walked over to the Soggy Dollar for what else but a Pain Killer! I'm pretty sure it's a law on Jost to order one so you just gotta do it right? After some limin and a spot of shopping at Soggy, we were pretty much lit so it was back to the boat and have you tried swimming while your crunk with your more precious then gold Painkiller hiked in the air? Not a pretty sight let me tell ya! But FUN! Oh man, that was good times!
<a href="http://s87.photobucket.com/albums/k138/ ... C00598.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k138/ ... C00598.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

So by this time, the grown ups (and I use this word lightly) are needing some food to soak up our booze and our destination of choice was Willy T. By the time we got there, I had to pee so bad that I had never been so glad to see a toilet in my entire life! Since the little oinkers had already got their grub on, they decided to bake on the boat while Cap'n, Honey and I we went aboard ship and ordered up some Fish & Chips X 2 and Chicken Roti. Honey had a beer but I'd had plenty of libation at that point and was still waiting to soak some of it up. While we ate, I was curious about "the book" so Cap'n found it and brought it to the table. OMG! That's all I will say about that! The indecent thing again. After filling our bellies, Cap'n and Honey went back to the boat while I settled the bill. According to the bartender, that comes with a kiss and hey, I'm cool with that. Nice guy and good fun. It was relatively mellow while we were there that afternoon so that was good with the kids. Don't want to do too much corrupting!
<a href="http://s87.photobucket.com/albums/k138/ ... C00609.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k138/ ... C00609.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
After lunch, Honey wanted to stop at the Caves so we did and while Drama Girl and I sprawled on the boat, Honey and Snorkel Boy had a spot of snorkeling. We've all done that before but they said it was real cool this time. Next up, we headed out to the Indians where I was so excited cause Cap'n said it couldn't get any more perfect for that snorkel and since I had never snorkeled there before, I couldn't get in there fast enough. I think I was first one in, last one out. Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! Gorgeous snorkel, beautiful coral, tons of fish, Barracuda, Trumpets, Needles, Scuba Divers and sooo much more! There were billions of fry that parted like the Red Sea as you swam through them. I love that! It's so, so, cool!!! The water was so calm too, it was absolute perfection! Could not have asked the weather Gods for a better day.
<a href="http://s87.photobucket.com/albums/k138/ ... C02503.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k138/ ... C02503.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Well, it's time to go, our fun at an end, we head back to Coral Bay where we had a quick chat with the real pirate's of Coral Bay. They were cool, wish I would have gotten a pic. Jack Sparrow don't got nothing on them boys! Well ok, maybe the hot factor but that's about it! Right as we pulled up to the dock, it started to pour rain (great timing), so we squared up with Cap'n, relayed our pleasure in the days activities then hopped in the Jeep and headed back to home base. Back at the villa, we had a dinner of Egg Salad sammies with Chips & Dip, Drama Girl and I re-painted our by that point skanky toe nail polish, we watched a DVD flick and passed out cold til morning. So much fun! I highly recommend Trueman and Flyaway Charters! Honey especially liked him cause well, he's a hippy that's it. For those of you who have not had a chance to spend a day out on the water, I only have one thing to say, JUST DO IT!

Another great installment! How was the food at Willie-T? We're gonna make our first visit there this trip. And, what's the "book"? Inquiring minds want to know
I hope Buster and machete man are back on their meds by the end of the month! Definitely don't want to run into them (him).

Let me say this about the "book" at the Willie T, or the "family album" as it was called when we were there. Make sure there are NO younguns around if you take a peek - and no prudes either!! Some WILD stuff goes on at the Willie Tee at night and I guess its no surprise that the folks who engage in it don't mind having photos taken

You are a riot!
Great report....wish you were going to be in St. John in the next few weeks.....sounds like you guys would be great to party with.
Love your report. You crack me up, girl! We saw a machete guy when we were there also. Now it looked like our guy had just finished clearing some brush along the road, maybe for some parking. But he's a big dude, walking down the road with a giant machete and there's this jogger woman, a little thing really, jogging down the road towards him. Now I'm thinking, if I see a big guy with a machete walking towards me, I'm gonna turn around and high-tail it outta there. But apparently dudes walking with machetes in St. John is kinda like dudes walking with ipods around here, cause she just jogged right past him. No biggie.
