Ruins above Waterlemon

Easy ten minute hike to the first ruin/lookout battery. About another 10 minutes for the path to the left and the Windy Hill main house ruins. Well worth the walk if it has been cut back recently. Lots of wildflowers at main house area.

Rental Villa Confirmation

The rental business is not that great on St. John this year as a whole. You should recieve a confirmation the same day or the next. If you want a rental confirmation today for Monkey No Climb please go to my website. I don't know about the company you are sort of dealing with, but I would like to ta...

OPH

I don't know anything about OPH but Lower Bordeaux Mountain Road or sometimes called Costanzo Road IS PAVED almost to the very top of the mountain now. Has been for almost two years. You might also consider Skyflower or Monkey No Climb which are at the very top of the paved road.

Cold Pools

We used to always require a villa with a pool but we soon stopped after so many were too cold to actually use. I think the pools with the most direct sunlight for the most hours seem the best. Most pools don't seem to be heated except by the sun. The electric bills can be sinful. When it came time t...

We will be on top of the mountain at Monkey No Climb.
As soon as the leaves drop, temps drop, daylight savings time ends we make our escape to paradise.

Coral Bay vs. Cruz Bay differences

Cruz Bay=traffic, noise, no parking, speed bumps, The Marketplace Shopping Center, ferrys, overpriced restaurants, Mongoose Junction Shopping Center, St. Thomas views and close together. Coral Bay=no traffic, quiet, parking, goats, Cocolobo Shopping Center, moderately priced restaurants, big BVI vie...

Take a look at monkeynoclimb.com It's a new house near the very top of Bordeaux Mountain looking east and down on Coral Bay. Two bed/two bath, completely paved road and easy paved driveway. End of road privacy, large trees, unbuilt upon lots around the property, birds, breezes and quiet. Lists for $...

Villas Ideas

Lulu, you might want to contact the owner of monkeynoclimb.com. The house is a new West Indian style home with two bedrooms (two king beds) and two baths. Spa but no pool. Its VERY PRIVATE, VERY HIGH UP on Bordeaux Mountain above Island Blues with big views. If that fifth person doesn't decide to go...

Villa Ideas

It's gotten to be quite a job trying to find the right villa to rent on St. John. So many villas. Big dollars vs. smaller dollars. What is worth it vs. what is not. How much is a pool really worth? How much is a good view really worth? How much is quiet worth? Are the online pictures really represen...

Getting Frustrated

I would also vote for Cruz Views on the cheap. We went that route numerous times while we were building our house in Coral Bay last year. Of course there is construction and its not the easiest walk. One of the properties suggested here we tried but we checked out after two nights as ALL OF THEIR BE...

Favorite Villa For Two

You might look at "Monkey No Climb" which looks down on Coral Bay. Under $2,000 in the summer. No pool but there is a spa on a 46'x 12' covered porch with big views. High elevation with end of the road privacy/quiet and many trees on un-built upon lots bordering the property.

Coral Bay house

Look at www.monkeynoclimb.com
End of the road private. High elevation. Great view and breezes. Spa.
Most houses will let you set your rental schedules.
You tell them the nights you want to come/leave.
April isn't too warm. Should be fine.
Most of the rental company's are fine. Some better than others.

Skyflower

Funny you should mention Skyflower as I was just there for cocktails with the owners on 2/14/09. There are many very nice views on St. John. This is easily in the top 5%. Wow!
