Post by loria »

have flights and a car--now need a place to stay!!
didn't think we'd be able to swing this this year --with work being so crazy--but here we are--
wanted to stay at salty dogs place--but they are booked--any ideas for other moderately priced places ?

Not sure how many in your party. Try Estate Lindholm next to Asolare, couples only, No kids. Approx $220. night. Merry Xmas!!

Take a look at the new house monkeynoclimb.com
Open over Xmas and New Years. Reasonably priced, great views and very private.

Hey Lori - Just thought I'd post here too how glad I am! So cool that our kids' ages line up. Can't wait to see you on the beach!

Monkey No Climb is a great idea. The floor plan - 2 bedrooms with interior access - looks great for a family.

Since Christmas generally gets booked way ahead of time, I think maybe searching on vrbo.com or homeaway.com might be the easiest way for you to find something that is open for your dates and meets your various criteria. They both have hundreds of villa listings for St. John rentals.

Since I use these sites a lot and have so for years--especially vrbo since it's been around longer--a couple tips:

don't waste time on any who haven't updated their calendars within the last week or so;

check out those with more pictures and/or more guest comments first.

I say this because no matter what country I've booked a condo or house in, through these sites, I've found invariably that the nice people who want your business and handle their bookings professionally, are the ones who stay on top of their listings (and respond quickly and informatively).

BTW, I've rented places all over the world using these sites and have never really had any kind of problem. In fact, I'm almost always pleasantly surprised.
