Villa Recommendations for Coral Bay PLEASE

Post by laskinroadie »

Hi all,
We just returned yesterday, trip report soon come, but are already planning our 2010 spring return. We would like recommendations for:

a small 1-2 brm (we're only 2 people), no tan line private, quiet, coral bay villa, pool/hot tub plus but not required, not too horrible driveway, ac in bdrm a plus, but if breezes great, not essential

Other questions: do most villas rent sat to sat? if one wants to stay a few extra days, what wd you recommend? Do you have a preferred rental/management company? Finally, is it dramatically hotter in April than in March?

Thanks for your help,

Calypso By The Sea - Is not a fancy place, but is (or was when we stayed there) a cute little place, right on the water in Johnson Bay Estates, has hot tub no pool. Don't recall AC in the bedroom, but that may have changed by now - though we didn't need it.

Coral Bay house

Look at www.monkeynoclimb.com
End of the road private. High elevation. Great view and breezes. Spa.
Most houses will let you set your rental schedules.
You tell them the nights you want to come/leave.
April isn't too warm. Should be fine.
Most of the rental company's are fine. Some better than others.

Reef Madness!!!

Last visit we stayed 10 days - Friday to Tuesday - if the availability calendar says it's open, you can pretty much choose which days to come and go.

We stayed at Pink Horses. Great house but Island Dreams is directly above and can see down in to your pool. So no skinny dipping. Island Dreams has a pool, no hot tub and the pool is private. St. John Livin' is the first house. It has a pool and a hot tub. It's really cute! They all share the same driveway. The views are spectacular! Awesome breezes.

Mayan Sky thru VIVA. It's got three BR's but these are often the same price as the 1-2 BR's.

You can stay as many days as you want. We usually stay 10 days. Just gotta pay for them!

April is great!

Periwinkle Cottage in Coral Bay - 2 bedroom - 2 bath -at end of small private road and you pass only 1 other house - very secluded (all over tanning) - pool, hot tub, great breezes & views of Coral Bay - a/c in one of the bedroom - see Periwinkle at Great Caribbean Getaways - but pictures do not do it justice!! Gotta plug the family home. Mom and dad own Island Dreams. Very cute 1 bedroom, pool, you can do some nekkid stuff since alot of the vegetation has grown up. It is very quiet, not too far from Island Blues/Aqua Bistro and the view (sunrise) is awsome. You can look at it on bookitvi/dreams.

We've stayed at Drake's Lookout- loved it. Very private, awesome views of Coral Bay, Drake's Passage, and the BVI's. Has a pool. Way up the hill above Island Blues / Aqua Bistro.

Drakes Lookout shares the first part of their driveway with One Particular Harbour which looked nice too.

Starlit Escape is a big house, but it's reasonable for two people. It's pretty private and absolutely gorgeous.

No rental company, and the owners live on island. I have sailed with Jared, and he is absolutely great. I keep trying to get into the house, but our timing is never quite right.

A lot of people have also recommended Seabiscuit. It's also on my list of places to check out.

Check out Villa Carolina. It's a 3 bedroom with everything except the 3rd bedroom on one level.

The views from the deck are fantastic. House is very comfortable and decorated beautifully. Very private with a long driveway up to the house. The house is surrounded by property so that you can take a walk if you like.
Pictures on website are very accurate.
