Sundancer: Heaven!

Rating: (Excellent)

We stayed at Sundance again in mid January 2011. The owners are personally managing the house and were very helpful and informative on check in and any time we had questions. The exterior of the house was just repainted and looks great! There are now potted palm trees on the pool deck that give shade and the view has been cleared so that you can see Hart Bay from the pool deck as well as the upper decks. We found the house very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The linens and towels were clean and crisp. A lot of improvements have been made since our last trip. The owners seem to take a special interest in this property and told us to be sure and let them know if while we were there if we had any issues with the house so they could take care of it. We broke a coffee carafe, let them know, and they brought one within the hour.

We used the hot tub often. Heaven! The bamboo tree gave us shade and privacy. We had no insect problems at all.

We had friends over twice. We could park two cars side by side right by the house. (In fact 6 cars could fit in the driveway if necessary.) We had no problem backing out and turning around and really like it that the road is paved all the way to the house. After we visited our friends' villa where the house had a very steep road approach and a steep driveway, we were even more grateful for the easy of getting to Sundance. We have been back here several times and it is starting to feel like our island home!

We walked down to Hart Bay Beach every morning this trip as part of our wake up routine. It is nice to have a beach to go to that feels all our own. We never saw anyone else there and I enjoyed beach combing followed by a refreshing dip. It is an uphill hike back to Sundance (about 10 minutes, the map says the house is 130 feet above sea level) where a dip in the pool refreshed us all over again. What a great way to start the day! Can't do this in Vermont in January. We enjoyed a leisurely brunch after our Hart Bay walk, then headed out to explore the island. It was nice to come back to Sundance at the end of the day and enjoy cocktails from the gazebo deck. My biggest complaint....one week is just too short. We hope to come back for 10 days next year.
