Our group of five women stayed at Hummingbird Hill villa June 9-16, 2011. Hummingbird Hill is located on Gifft Hill Road and is easily accessible to Cruz Bay. The driveway was easy to navigate with plenty of room to turn around and the parking at the front door was nice for loading and unloading.
Hummingbird Hill has three air conditioned bedrooms and each has its own bathroom. Two bedrooms are located in the main house and the third (master bedroom) is located in a single pod poolside, just a few steps away from the main house. The master bedroom has an outdoor shower. I would point out that there were no curtains on the bedroom windows. Since no other houses were visible, privacy was not an issue. However, I would recommend an eye mask if you like to sleep late.
There were plenty of bath towels and and Catered To provided a midweek light cleaning. The living room, kitchen and dining area is an open-concept layout with very easy access to all covered porches. We did prepare the majority of our meals at the house and the kitchen was very well equipped. A gas grill is available. Other villa amenities included high-speed wireless Internet, a safe, lots of ceiling fans and a washer and dryer. Also, plenty of paper towels, dishwashing liquid, shampoo, shower gel and lotions, etc. were available. The power did go out overnight one night and it was nice to find a flashlight in each bedroom!
The landscaping throughout the property is beautiful. A dining table and sitting area are located on the covered veranda and this is where we ate all of our meals and spent our early mornings watching the boat traffic between St. John and St. Thomas. Each evening there were incredible sunset views. The pool was sunny for the majority of the day and the pool water was warm. There is a small veranda overlooking the pool that provided shade. There is also a table and chairs with an umbrella by the pool. Lounge chairs
and two pool floats are available. Large Tommy Bahama beach towels, two different size coolers, sturdy beach chairs, and a beach tote bag were provided for our use.
Catered To Vacation Homes was very easy to work with before and during our stay. We would definitely stay at Hummingbird Hill again.
