My wife and I just returned from a great trip to St John (January 2011). We stayed at an awesome property on Devers Bay. The views were unbelievable from all of the rooms and the property had rare access to its own private bay. We have been to St John a number of times and really loved this house. The location of the house is spectacular. It is close enough to town that you could get to Cruz Bay relatively easily. However, when on the property you are very secluded and you do not really notice any of the neighboring properties.
The home itself was positioned perfectly. It has southern exposure and is the right distant above sea level. We typically like being up high enough to enjoy the views but not too high. If you get two high, it is cooler and the pool typically takes longer to warm up. We also really enjoyed the way the house was set up. It had a great room with a panoramic view of the ocean. The sunsets from the great room looked like something you would see in a postcard. The kitchen was set up so that you can see the ocean while you are preparing a meal or a snack. The pool and hot tub were also amazing and you could enjoy the views from both. In fact, when you are in the hot tub at night it looks like the stars are on top of you. The landscaping made for a wonderful tropical setting and also provided the right amount of seclusion.
The home has three bedrooms, two of which are on the main level. There is also a lower level bedroom that offers plenty of privacy. The house was well stocked with everything you would need and decorated with a lot of local treasures. We could tell that the owners took great pride in this home and we highly recommend St John and the property, Dream Come True.
