Margarita

While we were on St. John last Jan. my step-daughter (who is a bit of a foodie and lives and enjoys food and drink in New York City) said the margarita at Aqua Bistro was divine.

Jan 28th

We will arrive on STT on Jan 28th. Looking to take the 5pm ferry to St. John. After reading a post here about the concert in Cruz Bay that night, we are wondering if there will be a mad rush for the ferry with people from STT heading to the concert. Any thoughts on this? Should we arrange a private ...

?

Yes, I think the reference is to the taxi ride from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay. We will have been going back and forth in the jeep prior to the taxi ride so hopefully all will be ready for it. I know it will be a bit more exciting in an open air taxi but maybe the boat drinks will help with that??? My on...

Coral Bay Taxi

Here is what I am trying to do: We plan to charter a boat from St. John to Jost. We will be staying in Coral Bay and would like to take a taxi from Coral Bay to Cruz Bay in the early morning and back from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay around 5:00pm. I was just wondering if anyone knows of a taxi driver that...

Pia, thank you for the great info. I did note the restricted use of the washer/dryer at Jumbie. I also totally understand the need for some sort of heating for some of the pools on St. John.
Thanks again for you input!

Ok, now I might be a bit confusted. I referred to the Road to the villa as Sea Grape Road after looking at this villa location map http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=109931726631417883397.0004810182846cf026c52&t=h&z=14 So is there another road called Sea Grap...

It is here on vrbo.

Looks quite nice.

The owner said you go to the top of Sea Grape Road and then come back down to the villa.

I have been to St. John 10 times and have always stayed in Coral Bay but have never driven up Sea Grape Road.

Thank you for the info.

Flip-Flop, I'm glad you replied. One of your recent trip reports indicating that you had WALKED the road stuck in my mind. Gotta hand it to you on that!

Sea Grape Road

Hello, we are trying to decide between a villa on Sea Grape Road (Villa Jumbie) and another up Calabash Boom (Moonswept). The major consideration is the condition of the road. We stayed up Calabash many years ago and the drive up & down was a bit much. Has that road been more paved recently? Is ...

Varlack Ventures

Has anyone had any recent experience with Varlack Ventures jeep rental. They are located across the street from Connections in Cruz Bay. I am just wondering about the quality/age of their vehicles and the odds of finding parking in their lot in the evening in Cruz Bay.

Thanks for any info.

Little Plantation

Thanks for the info but I don't think that is the house. I was told the road is in the flat area between Costanza Road and Harolds way. The villa overlooks cocolobo plaza. I think the road might almost connect to Harolds way up above. Is anyone familiar with this villa. I guess that is my concern, i...

Little Plantation Villa

Hello, I am looking for any info or reviews on Little Plantation Villa in Coral Bay. Just wondering about the current condition of the villa and pool area. Also wondering what the road to the villa is like. We have stayed up Costanza Road and Harolds way in the past. I understand the the road to LP ...

Seriously, if Great Caribbean Getaways is now charging a service fee for their “services” I am laughing out loud. In previous experiences with them they have: Left a party unfamiliar with the island at the end of a driveway to “hop over” a security gate that David forgot the key to. This poor girl w...

We stopped at Chateau Bordeaux one day last week after the beach. Approx. 4:00 or 5:00pm. We wanted to enjoy a blender drink on the balcony. The bartender said he would not serve a blender drink on the balcony at that time, only earlier in the day. Lesson being, you cannot turn away customers (4 of ...
