What a really nice looking place! I love the outdoor living space. Is there still ongoing construction next to that side of the building?

We have used St John Car Rental & Courtesy and would recommend both. St John Car Rental is more convenient if you want to park in their lot while in town. The walk from Courtesy is not bad though.

Dove Cottage looks like a great place. It was on our 'potential' list for a trip earlier this year based on location/privacy. I think it's maybe 10 minutes or so from Coral Bay? It's nice that a paved road goes all the way to the cottage. It feels very isolated on the East End. I also think that mak...

We have considered staying at Grande Bay and not renting a car. I think taxi fares will add up to much less than Jeep rental. Both grocery stores in Cruz Bay, Dolphin & Starfish Markets are probably about the same distance from Grande Bay. I would consider both easily within walking distance. Di...

Cruz Bay Villa - Kinja

Just when I thought I had looked at every villa on St John I came across one in Cruz Bay called Kinja. Although located just outside of town, looks like the place has an amazing view. Would appreciate hearing from anybody that has stayed here. Love a villa with a great view, but on both of our previ...

Consider Sol Inclination in Estate Fish Bay. You would have the main house + the guest house. Main house is above the pool deck and guest house just below. Views are incredible. Road to the house is steep but paved all the way. 10-15 mins to Cruz Bay. Property Manager Marc Miller of James M Miller P...

Check out Otter Box products. The smallest Otter Box will hold keys and a few other items. The product is a dry box and it works really well.

We hit Black Sand Bistro tonight for dinner. This was one of the best meals we've had anywhere in a long time. Location makes it so easy to PARK! Great drinks, food, service...prices very reasonable, unbelievably reasonable. Two drinks each, two entrees and a shared dessert was $67 before tip. In th...

We spent about 30 minutes today huddled under one of the picnic shelters at Hawksnest. It was an all out downpour. By the time it let up a little everyone ran for their cars. Amazingly enough, once the showers moved on a whole new group packed the beach in a matter of minutes. We stayed around for a...

Hike to nowhere and other activities

Day 2 started innocent enough with a few breakfast items from Deli Grotto. We decided to try something new and head to Solomon. We parked up at the lot for the Lind Point trail up the hill from Asolare. Not really that much into hiking, so the hike down to the beach was steep and not so much fun. Th...

Re: Top of Fish Bay

Hope you enjoy your stay at Sol Inclination as much as we did back in 2007. Great house, great views but the roads were not paved all the way up when we were there. White knuckle driveway still?? When we first pulled in to the driveway I saw the parking for what turned out to be the guest house. I ...

Live from the top of Fish Bay

We're back on st. John five years after our first trip...too long. Some things haven't changed. I'm still being honked at far too often. This morning an elderly gentleman found more than one opportunity to blow the old horn...darn tourists. We started our trip with flight delays in DFW and MIA. 15 m...
