MoonSwept or Dove Cottage?

Post by SusieQT »

These are our top 2. 2 adults, 2 kids ages 8 & 10. We have been to STJ before. Priorities are a great view and a pool that will be warm in January. We also want interior access bedrooms, only really need 2.

Any feedback on location? I'm concerned that Dove Cottage is way out past Coral Bay. We prefer the northshore beaches but will spend time everywhere around the island.

Thanks!

Dove Cottage looks like a great place. It was on our 'potential' list for a trip earlier this year based on location/privacy. I think it's maybe 10 minutes or so from Coral Bay? It's nice that a paved road goes all the way to the cottage. It feels very isolated on the East End. I also think that makes it one of the most beautiful parts of the island.

Moonswept is a beautiful villa and is located high on Calabash Boom in Coral Bay. We have not stayed there, but we purchased the villa next door last year (Sun Moon & Stars) and have been inside Moonswept a few times. The pool is solar heated and the views need to be experienced to fully appreciate. The pictures just don't do it justice! Coral Bay is about 2 miles away and the road is in very good condition (some paved, some dirt). The constant breezes are a huge bonus! I am not familiar with Dove Cottage. I hope that helps...
