Re: Internet connection on the island

I am on island right now posting at my house. I have VI Broadband and it is fairly reliable. Even when the power is out, my generator kicks in and my connection stays active. I would say I'm pleased with it most of the time as I would not be able to come to the island often without being able to sus...

Rhumblines still has the Sunday Brunch and there was a Bloody Mary bar when I was there a couple weeks ago.

Sylvia's Clean Plate is a favorite of mine. Sylvia makes amazing Jamaican food with some great spices. Her jerk shrimp is one of my favorites as well as goat stew. She is right beside the Donkey Diner in Sputnik's (Coral Bay). She's about as authentic as you can get.

I find AT&T works well for me almost everywhere on the island. I am in Coral Bay and generally get 4G service. Little Cinnamon is about the only beach I can think of that has no service and Shipwreck the only restaurant. Be sure to set your service to AT&T and not automatic or you will pick ...

He doesn't do a lot of day sails, so most of the time he just anchors and anyone can swim up. Basically, if you see it, you are welcome. On days Vie's is closed, he seems to go to Hansen. Pete respects Vie's property rules and they seem to have somewhat of a symbiotic relationship. Please be sure to...

Angel's Rest is basically a floating "bar". Pete usually heads out to Vie's and is a short swim away. If necessary, he will pull in as far as possible for you to board. He usually posts his whereabouts each day on facebook but can be reached at 340-514-6270 to find out. He also does sunset...

Maybe they have made some changes since I was there. I love spicey food - but didnt find it spicey at the time. I will have to go back and give it another try possibly this week. I don't like any St John business having troubles.

I found the same thing with Fatty Crab. I went there in january for the first time to watch Joe Krown (He is AMAZING) and found the food overpriced and mediocre. Hopefully, they work things out.

You can get deli subs made on fresh buns at Lilly's after 10am ASSUMING someone makes the bread before then. The deli girl comes in at 10am. If not, you have to wait 45 minutes for her to make bread. I continuously voice my opinion to them that they should have the bread made earlier to accomodate p...

The National Park is well aware of Caneel's current managements' stance on allowing access. It is the DPNR that you would need to contact. Unfortunately, things are a little different here on St. John, and you might find yourself unwillingly "escorted" off the property.

What part of the island are you staying on? I would highly recommend Captain Truman at V.I. FlyAwayCharters if you are staying in Coral Bay.

My family has vacationed at Spellbound a couple of times. It is a beautiful villa with plenty of space. The views are amazing. We had a few issues with the building, but Catered To was quick to have anything resolved.
