Boat Charter Companies

Post by STTlover »

I'm searching for a charter to take myself and my three girlfriends to the Willy T and White Bay and can't remember all the ones out there. There are just so many so I was thinking to start a thread of the different companies instead of searching all over the forum for the names.

So far

Anyone like to add their favorites?

Palm Tree is fabulous. Book it and don't look back.

Here's one.

I have never done a charter but, if I was going to I would use Island Roots. We stayed at both their place this year, Island Vibes and Christmas Cottage. Capt.John and his wife Marcia were great. I'm sure a charter with him would be a good time.

Palm Tree Charters is awesome! Can not say enough good things about Capt John.

We were going to skip him this trip since it is just the two of us but we decided to cut way back on our villa and use the money saved for a day out with him.

We really enjoy it that much!

What part of the island are you staying on? I would highly recommend Captain Truman at V.I. FlyAwayCharters if you are staying in Coral Bay.

My intent is not to hijack the thread, but my question is very similar. How about some more affordable charters/daysails? Some trips are quite expensive (several hundered dollars and up). It would be nice to have options for something more affordable for just the wife & I.

It is expensive to charter a private boat, so your options are limited unless you want to go on a charter with other people. There are some great boats out there that take you on great trips with larger groups and it will be more around $100 per person.

There may be something, but I not aware of a Private BVI charter that will take 2 people for less than $500.

Captain Cleve from Local Flavor has a special on his website through December 15 for $390 plus gas. Now, I know that he had that up on his site since last year, so I'm not 100% sure that it's still current. Both Pia and Julie have recommend him in the past, and I just read a great review about him. He's Vie's son, and was born and raised on STJ.

Our friends just went out with Cleve last week and had nothing but great things to say about him, the boat and the trip. I emailed him after I saw the $390 special but haven't heard back yet. I was also informed that fuel now for a day trip to VG is in the vicinity of $300! So while we would love to do a private charter like that, the group trip is more in our budget. Damn gas prices!!!
