it's a journey..
Crisn- We're all different, but I think (hope) we all love our kids to death...in a good way, of course. Both my wife and I like to get away without the kids every now and then to remember what WE are about...the two of us. You gotta have someone you trust to watch them and you gotta want to have an...

common ideas
How to get there for less, that is the $100 question, isn't it? I agree with everything said here, all good advice...the top factors/ideas being: 1- Watch airfares (use Yapta or another "fare-watcher") this is a huge variable cost! 2-Travel with another couple who can split Villa costs wit...

my 2 cents
I'm planning my summer 2008 trip, my strategy was to figure out all the basics before I get there so I'm not fooling around with maps and asking where to eat or snorkel when I get there... So I browsed these forums to figure out what restaurants sounded good to me and what beaches...then I mapped it...

Ixora reviews?
We are getting close to Villa "reservation time" for a summer visit to STJ. It is looking like a late June or early July visit with two couples and maybe one single adult too. I've done a ton of Villa and location reserach already and have this narrowed down to less than 5 Villas...Ixora i...

Bluegirl- Thanks for having the courage to relive the nightmare so you could share it on the forum. Yes, you deserve an award...not sure what gets printed on it though... I got a kick out of your writing style and sense of humor...which faded near the end (understandably). All us parents have...

Sago Palms
Where is Sago Palms located? I searched the reviews and found some vague info...can't quite figure out where it is... How about any comments on staying there, looks like it has to be near a couple of the nicest "secret" beaches...share some stories please! http://i240.photobucket.com/album...

cameras
Thanks for the inputs everyone, I likely will get the annual Amazon gift certificate for christmas from my brother :-), and I was thinking this year I would aquire a camera for my summer 2008 visit to STJ. I already have a Sony "land" digital that gets the basics done but if I want to keep...

STJ Push Pins
Beach Bar is already in the pushpin file. Yep...Cali Girl hit it on the head...two ways to use the Google Earth community post- via Google Earth (that's what I use) or using Google Maps via Internet Explorer. I use the free version of Google Earth, it has alot of cool capabilities, such as being abl...

Underwater Camera Reccomendations?
I did a search on the forum and looked at some of the previous discussions on underwater cameras. Based on what I've read I am interested in getting a digital, underwater camera that does not require an external case to go into the water (less stuff is good). Can anyone share their direct experience...

Thanks!
Ya'll are awesome, thanks for pointing this stuff out! This is ten times better than a travel book (oops, did I say that out loud?)... I consolidated these onto Google Earth Community earlier today, I'll update with this info too. http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/1077353/an...
