north shore villa recommendations

Post by deejayjay »

:D We are planning our 2nd trip to St John this May. Yeah!!! Last May we went for 11 days and stayed at Harmony Suites in Maho Bay. Wonderful, loved the view. The downside was no a/c. I was way. . . to hot. Does anyone know of another place to stay, along the north shore, with a/c, for under 200.00 per night. Okay, . . . Stop laughing. We probably will return to Harmony Suites, but I just thought I'd check with some of you experts before I booked, just in case.

I forgot to say it is just my husband and I. So we don't need anything large. Plan to rent a vehicle. Would like at least a fridge and microwave. Oh, and of course a view. Ok, Ok, no more laughing

This might be too far east, but take a look at Sailview - http://www.sailviewstjohn.com/

No microwave, but a grill - under $200, as well.

(Haven't stayed there)

Happy Hunting,

Take a look at Luna Vista. We've never seen it, but we are staying there for a week at the end of May.

We almost rented this one a few years ago, but couldn't make the dates work. i don't know what it rents for now, but it offers some of what you want. Quite close to Maho Bay Camps and Francis Bay.

This is the kind of place we like---definitely a West Indian-style cottage rather than one of the luxury villas that are overtaking the island.

The Honeymoon Cottage website doesn't give a rate that I could see. Can you give me an idea of how much it rents for? Thanks.

I had emailed Terry with some questions on Honeymoon Cottage -

The off-season 2008 rates are $225/night, pus 8% hotel tax.

She is very responsive to emails.

We liked working with Terry but just couldn't work it out with the dates. We've stayed at Maho and I really love that part of the island. The convenience of Maho Bay Camps nearby makes it even more attractive.

I'm also attracted to Sea Spirit, even more so now that Concordia has a restaurant and more amenities available.

This maybe too much but look at www.beachnutsvacations.com/peterbaygatehouse.htm
its listing @ about $275 per nt but the view is to die for.
