12 hours!

Post by sea-nile »

Well, in about 12 hours we will take off from Chicago (weather permitting) and we are on our way to STJ!

I remembered a post that BugBlu98 wrote right before her trip. She said she cried (a happy cry) because she knew she was going home, to STJ, to a place that was so special to her. I really know what she was feeling, being an emotional person, myself.

I went to STJ for the first time 2 years ago. I fell in love with it instantly.

All of my life from the age of about 2 I have loved the ocean and have dreamed of that perfect island, that perfect place where it wasn't crowded or fancy, but where the beaches were beautiful and unspoiled. I started to look for that a few years back when I finally realized that we could afford to go.
I give myself an A++ on that homework because I found STJ, with the help of that other forum and a lot of internet surfing.
The minute I saw the island while on the CA ferry, I knew that this was it. The place that I had dreamed about. I "got it"instantly, unfortunately my SO liked it, but did not have the same feeling I did. I wanted to come back while I was still there.
I had to wait 2 years and I had to talk the family into it and it is finally here. Now I must make sure that they have a good time!
Thanks to all of you for your help as I have learned so much from all of you. Even though my family thinks I have "STJ sickness", I am sure that they will appreciate my knowledge because I will be able to find things and show them around.

I usually don't say this much, but I have had 2 painkillers. :D
I hope we make the 5:00 Red Hook ferry so look for us, whatever time that would be, 5:20 or so. Maybe it will be the 6:00 ferry, I am not counting on anything.

Watch for a message in the sand. Maybe I will write one for my 6 on the beach friends.

Thanks again to all of you for your help and for being here to talk to.

I'll look for your message in the sand. My hubby is not infatuated with STJ either. He enjoys it, but it's not his addiction, like it is mine. So then the girl trips come into play.

I think it's the best of both worlds.....a great husband who pays for my STJ trips.

Have a great time! Here's hoping that you family will catch the STJ sickness and really "get it" this time around. Very soon, all will be right in the world for you. Hope you have a super incredible week! Ali~

Sea-Nile, I hope you have the time of your life. Happy tears are my favorite emotion and hey, give me a couple Painkillers and I turn into Chatty Cathy too!

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! I wish we could've arranged to go at the same time as you guys (and go on that BVI trip together), but I know we'll meet at some point. Keep the good weather there for us in a couple weeks!

So excited for you!!!!

Terese, I can't let you go without putting in my 2 cents! Don't worry about it if they don't get it right away. Rick liked STJ a lot, now since we spent a week there, he likes is a WHOLE lot. I think he's beginning to get it. He's even become a lurker here on the forum... hee hee!

There's always hope! :D
