Has anybody recently stayed at Hale Lani or ChocoCruz?

Post by BuffaloGal »

I've missed out on a couple of villa options I was interested in for next fall already, so I need to get my planning in gear. Does anybody have any recent experience staying at either of these villas? Are they in good shape... nice, unobstructed views, etc.? Any info. you have would be greatly appreciated!

Define recently? We stayed at Hale Lani in November of '07. Amazing views. Nice house. Not really fancy but very comfortable.

Anything in the last year or two. I walked past both many times this past November but couldn't get a feel for the inside. Thanks.

We stayed there 3 years ago. It was a nice little house. No A/C in the main part where kitchen and living/dining is so it got very warm to cook. 2 upper rooms as well as 2 lower rooms have a/c. Very clean and comfortable for us. Nice pool area and view of st thomas.

We are staying at Chococruz in 17 days for 10 days and am shooting a video for the owners to use online. We did a walk through in Nov and decided to stay based on what we saw.

The rooms and views are well represented by their website. We're excited to stay there

Stayed at Hale Lani this past December. Awesome views and location. Quiet, clean, private, and well-equipped.

Not major stuff, but some things showing some wear and in need of attention- kitchen counter wooden edge treatment worn, one of the ceiling fans barely turned, a couple light fixtures not functioning even after I replaced the bulbs, beach towels clean, but getting worn. Furniture cushions, bedding, sheets, and mattress's were all excellent though.

For the money, Hale Lani is a great value for being so close to the water and the views- would stay there again. If DSJ and the owners do some minor stuff it will make this great villa even better.
