Best time of year to be on STJ?

Post by northerngal »

I know, I know, anytime is a good time to be on STJ but since I can't get there this winter what is May, June, October,or November like on STJ? I hate to leave Michigan when the weather is finally nice but I need an STJ fix bad!!!

Yes, anytime is a good time, but I would think that May or June would be better than Oct or Nov. You are getting into hurrican season and could be risky. I have been in June and it was lovely. going in April this year. You can't beat the prices tho in the off season.

Oct and Nov are technically in the hurricane season, but latter half of Aug and all of Sept is the most risky time..... My experience with November has always been very good..

We love May and have been in May everytime so far. However, we are giving November (over thanksgiving) a shot this year. We'll let you know what we think. Anytime is a good time I think!

Only 296 days to go...

May and November get my vote. IMHO...you get the benefits of lower off season rates and the likelihood of having ideal weather...mia

We love late April/May for our romantic alone vacation...July for the "kid" vacation.

The only time we don't want to go is during "high" season. Prices to high and crowds to contend with.

On the downside, going "off season" is that some restaurants are not open or have limited hours. So far, that has not been an issue with us. The places we love are open when we need them to be.

Hope this helps.

I love going for 4th 0f July week. You get the best of both worlds. Cruz Bay is busy and almost everything is open, because its St. John Carnival. There aren't so many people on Island so that the beaches are crowded, though. You get the low season prices, great weather, a wonderful Carnival village and parade, and fireworks over Cruz Bay! I'll be there again this July! Can't wait. :D 8)

I love going in July, I went 3 years in a row and the last time was 2005 and it was a little hotter then other years. I did Carnival one year and it was alot of fun.
