Hi Vicki
I know where you are coming from been vlasted a few times to. The PC correct people have to get a life. When you can't take a joke there is some thing wrong. Have a great time with the moms and remember to flatten the ground out so there isn't sign of where they are.

Vicki, some people need to lighten up a little. I thought your comments were hilarious!

Have a great time and don't let the buggers get you down ( the blue bucket included!)

Thanks. Those of you with gracious hearts are the reason I keep reading, even if I don't post much anymore.

And one last thought for you...the person who PM'd me....with regard to your very petty comment: "You won't always be young and beautiful." First of all, being almost 40, I think we can all agree that young and I already parted ways some time ago. As for being beautiful, I believe beauty is internal, not external, and as such, I can assure that regardless of what my face and body turn into, I will remain a beautiful human being.

Frankly, that's more than I can say for you.

Okay, the rest of you, if you'll excuse me, I have a vacation to go start. Where is the rum????

(the moms are on cloud nine, btw.....)

I always hate to hear it when people get blasted. Without humor life is sure dull. There are too many people worried about being politically correct and it makes things kind of boring and too serious.

I was thinking the same thing about the forum lately. It doesn't seem t be as fun as it used to be. A lot of the regulars aren't as regular anymore. People do need to lighten up a little.
I wasn't offended VIcki and I sure do respect people with disabilities.

(yes, it's 3 am and I am up)

I’m among those who enjoy your post here Vicki, and I cannot understand if anyone read your statement about Rainman in a wrong way. So please don’t stop posting!

On the other side I understand you. Sometimes I’m being a little sad, when a topic develop
to something who doesn’t suits to “the most friendly board where people are talking nice to each other”. But then I think that in a way it’s entertaining and most of the people here seem to be very nice and humorous people.

Just my two cent (isn’t it the right expression? :D or is it penny? cannot remember)

OK, It's been a while, but I'm ready to kick some body's ass. Whadda you mean somebody got mean to Vicki, by sneaking in the back door, no less?
Vicki, I think that I can speak for the vast majority of the board when I say we love ya, and always look forward to your posts!
As to the board being a bit like a baby diaper soiled with #2 lately, I have only to say that like my last kidney stone, this too shall pass. As to the wicked witch from the nest...Hey, you're on STJ. I'm not feeling too sorry for you. Peace & harmony! JT

Now, ya'll don't think I'm mean but she has a mysterious vague "knee injury" (she is "pity me" flavor of MIL) any getting through the airport with her was like trying to herd a 3 legged elephant. My mom's sweet, but after watching her try to figure out an mp3 player all day (for a visual, think Rainman), my last nerve is wearing thin.

Just landed, headed to the car ferry, and have been awake since 6 am Tuesday. If you hear of a tourist going nuts and strangling 2 old women....please post bail.
There is a special place in heaven for you! I can't imagine traveling with either my MIL or Mom, much less both at th same time. PS what's the blue bucket?

Enjoy your trip! BTW- I think that you will always be beautiful. Inside and Out!

Attacking someone on such a personal level is just childish. I may get all fired up over stuff, but I would NEVER sink that low.

Upset over an innocuous Rainman joke? Wow wee please do us a favor and go away if you are that thin skinned. If I were you, I would feel like a complete _______ after seeing Vicki's reply and would be compelled to apologize.

Don't need you chasing good folks like Vicki away - we need those real time photos and trip reports!

Re the tone of the board - it would be unrealistic not to expect flare ups once in a blue moon. Thankfully it seems like it happens less frequently and less nastily here than elsewhere.

Enjoy your trip. I assume you are staying at that beautiful house again. When I was there, I mentioned that a board member had just left and Terry W said, "Vicki? Oh, have you met her? Beautiful inside and out."

Good call jmq! Vicki, if you haven't already received a PM apology, then you definitely should. It's one thing to state your opinion and defend others, however it's something completely different to blast people, particularly in a PM!

As others have said, sometimes people are overly PC, not just here, but EVERYWHERE these days, and it kind of makes me sick. If we are to be chastised every time we try to say something funny, then it's a sad world. I took no offense at all at your Rainman comment and you didn't put down anyone with disabilities. However, I don't suppose Rainman could be made today with all the PC stuff. Sad comment on American life.

Oh, and linne - a penny and one cent are the same thing, however in the saying the word "cent" is used, and as you said: "Just my two cents!"

Every once in a while I'd love one of the Facebook features where you can squelch someone and NEVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN. Of course, that goes two ways...

I've done that one some of the mailing lists. Its funny when an arse makes a comment and gets folks stirred up. You can only tell their passage by their wake.

Funny, some people never learn the skill of NOT READING THINGS THEY DO NOT LIKE.

I, for one, laughed out loud when you made the Rainman comment. Anyone who has watched a 7 year old instruct a geezer on how to use a techno gadget gets it right away.

Keep it coming! Get angry, offend people.

Cheers, RickG
