Did you need passports in the BVI for Customs and Immigration?? How was the US Customs and Immigration when you got back to St John?? What time of day did you clear there - crowded? What were the fees in both instances? Thanks -- how many people were involved if that makes a cost difference.?
I know a private boat is different in the BVI than a charter is that true at the US Customs?

I'll answer this question since I was the one who cleared customs for everyone

You really need a passport although a drivers license and birth cert will work for the time being

Your captain will clear for you so no worries there and its $20 a person which covers your fee and your part of the boat's fee

I'm so glad you had a good time Bug and yes Dickie was in rare form but even in his drunken stu'pour :-) he swam alright at mingo cay on the way back

See you Sat!

Thanks for the info Reverend, especially the co$ t -- how was the ST John side of the Customs experience? Particularly the time of day - it seems at sometimes they have an hour or more wait to use the dock. Does the BVI report who enters for the day so they know how many people to expect coming back to the USA side?

The BVI do not report anything back to the USVI its up to you to clear But watch out for the ferry timing because if they get in front of you forget about it

I cannot comment on how it was clearing back in on monday but I remember one time I cleared and it is pretty painless although EVERYONE has to go in with shoes and shirt on with passport in hand captain first

pm me if you want the real scoop pm me
