Armagnac?
Armagnac?
Any hints on where to pick up Armagnac on STJ or STT? We used to be able to find some aged Armaganc at pretty good prices (20, 30, 40 years old) as well as the Sempe VSOP and XO. But, nothing the last few years.

Rick - big selection at AH Rise. Some of the guys working the floor at AH Rise are pretty knowledgable and even suggested another store might have what I was looking for when I asked them for something they didnt have.

I remember when we had the Marina Wine and Spirits next to the Tradewinds Bldg in 2005, I think they had it. There must be somewhere on STJ that has speciality items.
I just know Mugar is such a food and wine lover that would not surprise me for him to have after dinner apertifs(think that is what armagnac) is considered.

Naturegirl,
You can just call me Roe or Rosi.......One of my buddies on island does some work with Starfish and also knows Andy who is the point man at Carlson Construction.
I am being told (also think it was in this weeks Tradewinds) that there will be wine and cheese tastings and Mugar (being from the Boston area and into finer things) wants to make it xtra special for not only the vacationers but the locals as well, by giving people a chance to get hard to find items.
I would guess if you would like to get in touch with David Mugar he would love to hear recommendations. He is quite a nice guy in the dealings I had with him when I lived on island.

Hey Roe, I like the way Mugar thinks. I'm originally from New York and am used to really good foodstuffs and am so glad that they are opening up a gourmet section of the Starfish market. I was just wondering if he may have a website or something with his new offerings. If not I will be down there in mid November and will be pleasantly surprised.
