Armagnac?

Post by RickG »

Any hints on where to pick up Armagnac on STJ or STT? We used to be able to find some aged Armaganc at pretty good prices (20, 30, 40 years old) as well as the Sempe VSOP and XO. But, nothing the last few years.

Rick
You could give Mixology a call and I'm sure he could get it. Or try A H Rise on STT they always have some different stuff

Rick - big selection at AH Rise. Some of the guys working the floor at AH Rise are pretty knowledgable and even suggested another store might have what I was looking for when I asked them for something they didnt have.

Waterguy, Mixology folks did not know how to spell Armagnac. jmq, thanks for the tip, the last time I was at A H Rise they only had the Larresingle. I need to check them out again.

Sorry Rick, I can't answer your question but do you mind if I tack a question onto yours?

Does anyone know if I can find Limoncello at Mixology?

Thanks,
Tim

I would just give them a call. You might have to spell it for them. They can generally order anything that is pretty straightforward, these days that includes Lemoncello.

Rick,
Will you be there before Mugar opens Starfish gourmet Market Nov 6?
If anyone on island would have armangac(sp) it would be Mugar but I bet A H Riise would have it on STT.

I remember when we had the Marina Wine and Spirits next to the Tradewinds Bldg in 2005, I think they had it. There must be somewhere on STJ that has speciality items.
I just know Mugar is such a food and wine lover that would not surprise me for him to have after dinner apertifs(think that is what armagnac) is considered.

Naturegirl,
You can just call me Roe or Rosi.......One of my buddies on island does some work with Starfish and also knows Andy who is the point man at Carlson Construction.
I am being told (also think it was in this weeks Tradewinds) that there will be wine and cheese tastings and Mugar (being from the Boston area and into finer things) wants to make it xtra special for not only the vacationers but the locals as well, by giving people a chance to get hard to find items.
I would guess if you would like to get in touch with David Mugar he would love to hear recommendations. He is quite a nice guy in the dealings I had with him when I lived on island.

Hey Roe, I like the way Mugar thinks. I'm originally from New York and am used to really good foodstuffs and am so glad that they are opening up a gourmet section of the Starfish market. I was just wondering if he may have a website or something with his new offerings. If not I will be down there in mid November and will be pleasantly surprised.
