Kayak is a pretty useful site for finding and tracking prices. When I actually make the purchase, though, I always go to the airline's website and purchase directly from them. I've found that the big travel sites sometimes tack on a few extra fees that raise the price a little. Also, I had a complete nightmare last year trying to sort out a problem with Travelocity. I'd rather deal with the airline directly.

I like google flights (http://www.google.com/flights/) especially the graphing option. We got flights out of rdu for late May about 5 months out for <$400 so you can possibly do better unless you are going at Thanksgiving or something. Happy hunting!
