obsessedmuch - Damn girl now I feel old. I thought it was a mile stone in '79' instead of the corner stone :) I bought the house I currently live in in '79' We are taking the laptop next month to STJ with over 100 JB songs.

I tried to get tickets on line for Jimmy's September show in the greater Detroit area the instant they went online at 10:00am. No go.I ended up getting them through a website called primetickets.com. They weren't cheap, even for "lawn seats", but it was so worth it. Our first time to a JB concert! He (and the Coral Reefer's) played for over 2.5 hours. Did I mention that it was in "monsoon" conditions? Cripes, it was raining so hard that the beer that I got was splashing out of the cup from the downpour. So much for that. It POURED the entire concert, finally let up on the way to the vehicle at the end. Jimmy mentioned that he thought a hurricane had arrived in Michigan. Would we do it again? You bet!

Big Buffet fans here! Have been to several of his shows in Chicago and a few other cities. (Sadly, it's been a few years since our last JB concert. It's gotten crazy trying to get tickets!)

Our daughter is named after a Jimmy Buffet song. NO, it's not "Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw"!! It's "Delaney Talks to Statues" from the Fruitcakes album.

Love Buffett too!

He played last year at Jazz Fest and frequently shows up even when he isn't officially playing and plays with some of the acts.

Last year it was crazy though, all these storms were all over New Orleans, and they thought they were gonna have to cancel his show. It had been lightly raining all day. Right before they made the decision, the storms split around the area where the Fair Grounds were and the sun came out from behind the clouds and the weather was BEAUTIFUL. CaliforniaGirl - remember I texted you the pic of the sun coming out?

It was an amazing experience and really special. We were all already emotional because it was our fist post-Katrina Jazz Fest (just one more sign that our city was...and is...slowly mending). I think most of the people around me got all choked up when that sun came out and JB started addressing us. His show was AWESOME too!

Psst! Hey teach...I think you want "bona fide", the adjective.

"Bonified" is a verb for...uh...something else, but whatever you do, don't discuss this with your class.

I have to jump on this thread! I am a Buffett fan as well. Owe it all to my husband getting me into him. We saw him for the first time last year at Jones Beach. Awesome show. Keeping our fingers crossed that he'll return there this year. Rumor going around that he will return but no confirmation as of yet!

Jimmy in the Caribbean!

Post by genipgirl »

Guess who just betrayed St. John and spent a glorious two weeks in Anguilla and St. Martin to see my Jimmy?

Yep. We went to the Anguilla concert ~ It was destiny, as we took over someone's resort reservations that was unable to make it to Anguilla, then got four tickets to the concert on Saturday morning through bizarre circumstances.

It was one of the best days of my life!

(I know I never post, buy I still lurk after all of these years. . .) Couldn't resist jumping in on a Jimmy topic.

Happy travels,

GenipGirl :)

O geez... It's been a looooong time...

Image

If my memory is working, the first derivative would be...

12x^3 + 36x^2 - 26x + 6

so the second derivative would be...

36x^2 + 72x - 26

Or did I screw up a sign in there?

My head hurts...
...ron

Time to start working on convincing the wife that we have to go back soon!

We are taking our 3 kids to see JB in Dallas next week. We saw him in Atlanta last year. So much fun! My 10 yr old son is already a parrothead, I mean parakeet! He's wearing his grass skirt and coconuts!
