Parrothead Party Saturday

Post by Ron in South Texas »

Yippeee!!!!

I have 6 tickets to the Jimmy Buffett concert Saturday at the “Juice Box” (aka Minute Maid Park). I have just finished up a week of TAKS testing 8th graders (Texas standardized tests). I teach mostly girls and they are always in “Crisis Mode.” They should start every sentence with “The world is going to end if I don’t...(fill in the blank)… right at this very moment!!!! “Like, Oh, My God…..” :?

Sorry, I’m digressing and venting. Now you know why I desperately need to go to St John in 49 days!!! I am so glad I have 2 boys!!

Anyway, we’ll be “going up the road a piece” to Houston (3 hour drive). Out of the six of us going, 4 are bonified Parrotheads. The rest will be converted Saturday night. My son, the college baseball player, is more excited about being on the field than being at the concert. He’s a Parrothead, though. I’ll try to take some photos of the festivities if I can sneak in a camera.

Cypressgirl…are you going?????

We also have tickets for the Jimmy Buffet concert on Saturday night at Minute Maid! Can't wait. Wish my STJ trip was as close as yours. I have to wait till the end of October. Have fun at the concert!

In fact, I am going to the JB concert here in Dallas on the next Saturday night...the 28th. If you've never been to a Parrot Head concert...you are missing out big time!

Caught his Tiki Tour in Seattle, great performance! Of course the best show is before the show.....I will have my camera out at the ready!! For those of you who have been before, you know what I mean!!

Have fun in Houston....I'll be having as much fun in Dallas next weekend!!

Fins to the right...Fins to the Left!!

I'm sooo jealous, Ron! I'm a parrothead too. I saw him at Riverbend (Cincinnati) last August, and out in San Jose 2 years ago this month. His concerts are so much fun! Have a blast with your group!!

Have a great time!

Hubby is a Parrothead and has since converted me. We've been the last five years: once at Fenway Park and last year in Vegas.

He used to play regulary at an open concert venue in Mansfiled MA but this year he's gonna be at Patriots (Foxboro, Gillete) Stadium.

We'll be there with beads on! And a buzz!

Have fun, Ron! Don't inhale

We saw Jimmy at Wrigley Field a couple of years ago. What a great show! It was on Labor Day afternoon and was a beautiful day. After the concert we went to Cheeseburger In Paradise to continue the mood.

Time to start working on convincing the wife that we have to go back soon!

Island Girl - Buffett tix are always available on eBay....since his Philly/Camden concert always sells out in about 90 seconds, I'm forced to make the brokers richer and pay the price. But it's a cross I will have to bear as I can't resist the all-day party on a Tuesday each year. Too much fun.

try this site:

http://www.buffettworld.com/

If there are pre-sale tickets, the password is usually posted. That's how I got such good tickets...not everyone knows the pre-sale password and you stand a better chance of getting the tickets. The tickets on the field were gone in about 15 minutes...even presale. Everyone else get to sit in the stands.
