Pirate Funnies

Post by Gromit »

As many of you know there is a rich (pun intended) history of piracy in the Caribbean spawning various stories, novels, movies, rides and Disney paraphenalia.

Anyway, a recent post about a Rum reference T-shirt inspired my own search on Cafe Press and got me chuckling. My two faves were:

"Party like a Rock Star, Live Like a Pirate" (no doubt a Keith Richards reference/pun related to Pirates of the Caribbean 3)

And perhaps the best of the bunch when worn by a woman:

"You had me at Yo Ho"

LMAO last night and still chuckling...

This reminds me of the Pirate Pick up lines:

"Come on up and see me urchins."

"How'd you like to scrape the barnacles off of me rudder?"

"I must be huntin' treasure, 'cause I'm diggin' yer chest."

"I've hidden booty all over the Caribbean -- but never have I seen one like yours!"

"Wanna shiver me timbers?"

"Me skull and crossbones arn't the only thing I plan on raisin' tonight."

"Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre you free on Saturday?"

And my personal favorite:
"Yo, ho! Bottle of rum?"

(This is not meant to offend, please let me know if you are and I'll try to make it so you aren't.) :)

My husband's favorite BVI T-shirt, "The beatings will continue until morale improves". I rather like it too.
Going "home" again October 26th!

***Tacky Alert***
The following may be in bad taste and offensive to some.

While I was browsing the Talk Like A Pirate Day site I ended up on their Cafe Press page which has quite a few Pirate themed t-shirts. Then I came across the item below. I thought it was funny, but it is a bit tacky. If you are offended by this, I apologize in advance.

I'm going to have a drink now...

Bug, The original from the movie was MILF (Mother...)

I thought it was a funny play on words (acronyms?) in my sick sort of way...

I thought PILF was slang for "pilfer" which pirates are infamous for doing. Guess I wasn't even close. Arghhhhhhhhhhh!
