In memory of Dickhead

Post by cptnkirk »

Many of you knew Dickhead (Sammy) if you have stayed a Cruz Views. He really made our stays there a little more special. He was a charmer as I really am not a cat guy but I loved this little guy. Well I'm sad to say I think he has went to kitty heaven. On our trip in Sept he was not anywhere to be found and he usually finds you pretty quik when you stay there. The caretaker said he had not seen him for a few weeks and thought he probably had passed. If anyone has seen him on there stay at Cruz Views after Sept 2010 great would love to here it. If anyone has a pic of the little guy feel free to post. I know he had alot of fans out there. He certainly knew how to make himself right at home.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Dickhead, but I feel like I have through all the pictures and discussion about him here on the forum. He looks like a real sweetie, I'm sure he's missed by everyone at Cruz Views. :(

That is sad :( . I hope he had a good kitty life at Cruz Views. He always did look a little beat up in his pics.
Going "home" again October 26th!

Well, that's sad. As "feral" cats go, though, he had a pretty good life, I think! He seems to have been perpetually on vacation.
We lost all of our pics on our puter, but here are some I'd saved to tinypic:

He wanted to come in, in the WORST WAY, but I'm so allergic:

Aww, I had never met him except from the forum...so sad :(

I hope he had a painless death.

I loved that cat! I had such a bad burn that my legs were swollen and fluid filled, he jumped up on my lap and even though it hurt I couldn't kick him off, by the time he decided to jump off I noticed perfect kitty footprint indentations left on my leg. I promise I did not share the beer with him it was only a photo prop. I knew him as cross eyed kitty which speaks for itself in the 2nd picture. I am sure he received lots of love, just look at how he touched all of us. Sad to hear the news.

Barb, I remember those two photos from when you originally posted them! The cross-eyed one is great. Black & white cats are special somehow!

Yea I think he had a pretty good gig going there at Cruz Views. One of the condo owners said they took him to the vet once a year for checkups 8) Probably why he lived so long, the caretaker said he was at least 11 years old. I'm getting teary eyed just thinkin about the little guy.

Last summer we stayed at Cruz Views #3 and had the entire place to ourselves--not one other tenant at the entire complex....even Sunny was off island! So the cat pretty much followed us everywhere. The little guy sure liked company. We will miss him!

Sorry to hear this sad news. Dickhead was present and accounted for on my very first trip to St John when we stayed at Cruz Views...he was never pushy, but was there every day to share our vacation with us.

I loved that crooked eye cat! So sad to hear that he's passed but you're correct, he had a GREAT life. I'm sure I have photos very similar to the capts but not on the computer I'm on now.

The folks at Sailview recently adoped a cat - 'Mr. Buttons'. He looks just like him but less crooked eyed. We enjoyed hanging out with him when we were there earlier ths month.

It IS sad.....what a wonderful cat Sammy was! He has definately passed away. Spent last Cruz Views stay (#7) without him there. It was just like something/someone was missing!... & it was!
