Post by C&S Island Time »

We have a villa rented in May for a week but we were thinking of staying a couple of extra nites. Does anyone have any sugesstions besides the Westin and Caneel for 1 or 2 couples ?

Gallows, new boutique hotel in Cruz Bay, Estate Lindholm (3 night minimum I believe).

Not sure if Cruz views or Lavendar Hill will do only a few nights.

Grande Bay.

As long as you have a car, Sailview in Coral Bay will a a fantastic choice as you could rent both guest suites - http://www.sailviewstjohn.com/

If you're like us and want to extend your stay somewhere inexpensive, you might consider one of the campgrounds. We've stayed in the "eco tents" at both Maho and Concordia, and really liked both as a cheaper way to add a few days to the vacation. Keep in mind we are NOT campers, but loved our stays there!

My biggest bit of advice, though, is to add the "extra" days at the beginning of the trip, rather than the end, especially if you do a campground or hotel/condo. It's a lot easier moving FROM a tent or hotel/condo TO a nice luxurious villa than the other way around...

Treat yourself to extra nights at Caneel and then take their private ferry and cab to the airport on your day of departure. It's totally worth it and it's a great way to end your stay on STJ!

We've used the St. John Inn for single nights.

The new boutique hotel looks nice though; I'd give that a try.
