Car Ferry

Post by Tim from Chicagoland »

I see that there are 3 car ferry companies. Which one do you prefer? Do I need to make a reservation?

Just pull up in line backward if that makes sense get on the first one that comes along only pay one way so you can do the same on the other end

Currently there are only 2 running (the third has been out of operation for probably a year) but that can change by the hour :) Buy a one way ticket as Waterguy said as the tickets are not transferable that way if one is not running on your return you are not out the fare :)

With only 2 operating, are they still going about every 30 minutes?

Nope, Boyson leaves on the half hour both sides and Roanoak every 2 hours on the uneven hours from STJ and even hours from STT :)

Pia,
Thanks so much. One more please. Do you know what time the first car ferry leaves STJ in the mornings (thinking of a Thur, not weekend day) TIA
