Nah - those are what I had on hand. Besides, they're 2 different brands. Ghiradelli wouldnt put Dove squares in their brownie box! :D

Any brand chocolate squares might work good and would be better than any store icing thats for sure.

Charlie is a brave man! It was SO cold yesterday!!

Here is a healthy vegan meal from the other day. Carmelized tofu, bok choy, vegan potstickers, and shitake mushrooms in a sesame soy glaze:

I don't know what it is - but this thread has cast a spell on me.

I haven't baked brownies since I was 12, but somehow a box of Ghiaradelli brownie mix and a package of Ghiaradelli squares ended up in my cart at the grocery store :?

Ha! Me thinks you'll be pleasantly surprised. Most box brownies are "eh".
Although tough not to indulge while still warm, I thought they were better the day after they were baked.
You'll just have to test that out to decide...maybe with a little whipped cream on top?

Your presentation is so great Becky.

I've got a bunch of cheese in the fridge left from my Christmas party that wasn't. I'm going to see how creative I can be :)

So, I started cooking Thursday afternoon just as it started snowing. I finished around dinner time today, just as it finished snowing!

Crab thingies for a New Years Eve party -
Image

New Years Breakfast - since we got home around 3am, I was glad that I got this started ahead of time and just had to bake it-
Râpée Morvandelle - aka Gratin of Shredded Potatoes with Bacon, Eggs and Onions. (Yes, Santa brought Mastering the Art of French Cooking)
Image

jmq's Ghiaradelli Brownies with Ghiaradelli Dark Chocolate square icing - these are awesome for boxed brownies!
Image
(liked them better the next day(and the next) - and with ice-cream  )

Blanchard's Corn Chowder
Image
(Santa got stuck in the Cookbook aisle at B&N).

Egg Nog French Toast

My lame attempt at a Liamsaunt cheese plate
Image

Pork Chops and Vinegar Peppars(BIL's homemade peppars - YUM)
Image

and Mary Beth's Beef Mushroom & Barley soup for sometime during the week
Image

I sent some of the Corn Chowder over to the neighbors. They reciprocated with a few treats from the North End

I think that's enough cooking for the year!
