Tropical Storm warning later today
National Hurricane Center, at 11am edt, said:
"TROPICAL STORM WATCHES COULD BE REQUIRED FOR THE U.S. AND BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS AS WELL AS PUERTO RICO LATER TODAY."
But it's still a tropical storm ... not expected to be a hurricane hen it blows over the island tomorrow.

Omar puffed up his cheeks and blew hard. Erika will act more like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum. The storm apparently is tracking directly for the VI's, but weakening. With luck, and according to the GFDL Model Run, Erika will scoot north and miss the VI's. The projected rainfall will turn blue water brown.
From Wunderground:
"......the center of poorly organized Tropical Storm Erika...Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph...65 km/hr...with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast and Erika could weaken to a tropical depression during the next couple of days...Over Puerto Rico...3 to 5 inches of rain are possible during the next few days...with isolated maximum amounts of 8 inches..."

Thinking of you Pia, Ruth and others. Hoping you get a good cistern filler and nothing more.

Being the optimist I am it's going to dip a little further south and miss ya totally. If I'm wrong gonna be a good rain and knock some coconuts off the palms thats it. Stay safe on the rock. Keeping my fingers crossed for our upcoming trip. They sure have been coming close to St John this year so far.
