Thunder................
Yes Tina, I've ordered good weather for the rest of the week The 'skeetes will be Hell by the end of the week. Pack appropriately.
Sorry Teragram, we couldn't even find a place to leave the Jeep. I am sure that the place cleared out after that storm.
I know that all of you are at home, reading this stuff, and saying, "Aw, shut up!" Sorry about this dialog. The trip reports will be coming soon.

We just watched the History Channel on Underwater Universe and it's pretty scarey. STJ is part of the 10 high ended huge problem areas. It all has to do with the volcanos under the earth and thermal circles that live deep in the ocean and draw moisture up to the atmosphere which develops problems. It was thermal circles, several, that made Katrina so powerful. One of the biggest quotes is "you don't have control of the water" No Duh.
OMG! We were mixing and pouring concrete yesterday during the storm. Like my husband said "We're either really brave, or real idiots!" The storm was pretty cool, but would have been even better during the night. There was lightning everywhere and Tortola looks like it really got hammered.
All the best,
Seagrape
All the best,

Sorry - 1 more thing...
The last HUGE rain only produced minor skeeters. What I'm hearing is that it is because the frog and lizard population have caught up and eat the larvae before it hatches. That's what the Kite said when I saw him at Domino gas station a few days ago. So, travelers, worry not (as Pia would say).
Seagrape (again)

Seagrape - congrat's on your concrete pour
Also, the last huge rain we received, and by that I mean the rain on a Monday about a month ago, did not produce what we call minor skeeters it produced what we call major skeeters
I am amazed Kite said that as even he was in full long sleeves, long pants and totally covered up and sitting swatting like swatting was the new "in" game
