Thunder................

Post by Pia »

but no lightening :)

Raining, cloudy, thunder, windy, cool - what more can we get - OK I guess an earthquake is possible (I'm not saying "H" )

Pia - I'd still gladly trade places with you today, thunder, rain, and clouds notwithstanding! Sure beats the 90 degrees plus high humidity here in Atlanta.

Nice and sunny here (for a change); although it ain't suppose to last too long :(

I'm sure your nastiness won't last long either.

Cypressgirl is not going to be happy if this is what greets her getting off the plane :(

My goodness, I hope it's short lived! How about just some nice rain showers at night? Can I request that?

Edited to clarify: I fully understand the concept of cisterns.

It is still thundering and we've had lightning here too. We got chased off Gibney earlier this morning and are now having another villa gravity day by default. I wish the thunder would stop so we can go in the pool. Saw dead chickens on Gibney (yuck) and watched some poor snorkelers get caught in a bad squall off the bay we are on. A boat had to come get them. I think the weather is supposed to be better tomorrow. On the plus side there have been many rainbows.

Yes, it's been a rainy day. Lots of thunder and lightning too. We were at Vie's beach and it rained but not too heavily. We watched the storm pounding the rest of the island. We heard that the power was out in Cruz Bay for a while. Vie said their power was out for a little while too but that had to do with some electrical work that's being done on the east end of the island. Lots of cisterns are full so long showers are okey dokey today. Nice to meeting you today at Vie's, teragarm!

Pia, is this all you have to complain about? I still trade places with you.

Heck, up here in the Boston area the sun came out today. I am video taping it right now so I can play it on my tv tomorrow, and the next, and the next day, and actuall all of next week....

We did trade places with Pia and it did rain on us. Although it was the "worst" day we ever spent here, it was still a great day. We were at Vie's at 11:30. Due to the weather and full parking lot we headed to Skinny's where we got a downpour. We went on to Maho and were chased off by lightning. We stopped at Hawksnest and we still had lightning. After hanging out with Ruth and a drink at the BB, we were able to get in the water at Hawksnest at 4 pm.

More later.

Hey Jim...be sure to do the sunshine dance for me.

Glad you got in a little water time before the sun went down!

See you soon.

We made the best of the day as well. Explored Cruz Bay, and then had pool and hot tub time at the villa.

Not complaining -- we had two good beach outings the past two days, in between the rain showers. Still, some consistent sunshine for a day or two would be great.

Today's thunder was the loudest we've ever heard here.

Hey Jim, we missed you at Vie's by about 45 minutes. We got there after 12:00. Sat at a table and by accident we were next to Diana2, so we got to meet another forumite! It was nice visiting with you Diana.

We were lucky with our morning as we visited Annaberg, hiked Leinster Bay Trail, then snorkeled Waterlemon. It was overcast and we didn't see much as we snorkeled. On our walk back, we met many hikers heading to Waterlemon and we thought they would get caught in the rain, which I'm sure they did. We waited at the villa and went to Vie's after the downpour stopped.

After Vie's it was a Villa Gravity day, not how we wanted to spend our last day, but we were on St. John, so we were okay with it!

We hope the rest of you have great weather on the island!

Peg
