What's interesting is that both boats appear to have been moored in the same vicinity.
Might want to double down while anchoring the mooring ball.
Honestly I wouldn't put it past someone to have purposely released the mooring to clear a coveted spot for themselves.
These spots are hard to come by right?
Did I just open a can of worms?

I don't remember posting that comment yesterday. But it sounds like something I'd say as I'm going to sleep.bevm wrote:As the boat is slamming in to the rocks you can say, "Oh, I think we're going to hit those rock thingys!"kellyanna wrote:ROTFL - We maybe he needs some Deck Fluff. At least we could have figured out something was going wrong. I did observe.
Bev, that sounds exactly what I'd say!

That boat is adrift in the second picture. It's mooring spot is way in towards the beach closer to where my boat used to be.benchill wrote:As reported by a few eagle-eyed cam watchers earlier, there is a 42' Beneteau on the rocks.
She came loose this AM just before 10. Our neighbor spotted it and put the locals into action. By the time they could get out to her, she was already on the rocks. Sea tow came from St. Thomas and attempted to move her but it was just too dangerous where she was sitting.
Now, sadly, the tide has moved in and is pounding her against the rocks. As you can see, she is wedged in there.

Sadly, another boat capsized on Tuesday and is floating inverted in Chocolate Hole too. You can see the doomed sailboat right behind the capsized boat in this picture from yesterday.

Been a rough week for boats.

Capt John did not say someone moved it - he said it was adrift in the 2cnd pic - it is possibly just dragging his own mooring ball along not connected to the ground tackle or just drifting by the mooring ball near it in the picture.
In any case it is a disaster.
Moving a boat off of a legal mooring is not a practice you would want to be held responsible for.
Freeing it on purpose to take over the spot is 100% criminal.
