I thought Grethen was going to choke. It looks like they are crazy hot and Chip loves Crazy hot. Jerome's in is my list for the just off the ferry pick up at Ruth's.

I loved that! Too bad airport security has my Jerome's hot sauce--hope they at least use it. Think I'll try a slight variation with a different hot sauceI have some shrimp in the shell in the freezer.

I just watched the video and I was laughing so hard. Hearing Jeff start to cough as the shrimp hit the skillet was classic. Seeing him toss the shrimp in the hot sauce with his hands was scary. Hot sauce on the hands has a way of catching up with you.

The recipe is at http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/f ... ght=shrimp

Cheers, Rick

It gets on your hands when you EAT the shrimp as well. I was petrified to take my contacts out when I got home!
Gretchen was really a trooper. I don't think Crazy Hot food is really her thing at all.
The shrimp really was awfully yummy, but if the heat scares you, you could try using a half or even a quarter of a bottle of Jerome's.
Tom Waterguy called the day after the tasting and ordered four bottles of Jeromes "to make RickG's shrimp" and I thought, maybe I should say something....But I didn't want to spoil the Vittles Video Surprise!

[Rick laughing out loud again] This really is a rather obnoxious recipe. I have a couple of recipes like this that I make to take to parties where I know there will be gluttons who fill their plates with the good stuff. I made these for a Super Bowl party and one of the aforementioned gluttons had tears running down his face after eating a pile of them. Yeah, it was hot enough so that everyone got a taste.

Jerome's is that hot. And, it's that tasty. You could cut the Jerome's back to 1 tablespoon per pound of shrimp. I would add some lemon juice, garlic and thyme to punch the flavor (not heat) back to Jerome's levels.

Ruth, I'll have to do a good write up on our St. John Jerk/Jerome's beer can chicken with pictures. Tell Jerome we love him!

Cheers, RickG

If it's the site, rather than the video file, try http://www.garvin.us/STJ/photos/vittlesshrimp.wmv

I finally had a chance to watch the video. That was funny! I like all of the red-faced people after tasting the shrimp!

I have a house full of non-seafood eaters (except me) so I may try chicken wings with Jerome's sauce.
...ron

Time to start working on convincing the wife that we have to go back soon!
