It's still winter here in VT

Post by Lovermont »

This is about as off-topic as you can get on a USVI forum...
Just wanted to let everyone know that the ski season is not finished in Vermont. Come on up - it's beautiful! It'll make the wait for your next trip to the islands go a bit quicker.

So, when does your Spring start; somewhere around Memorial Day. We get our fair share of that white stuff here in CT and it can get plenty cold, but not quite so much or as cold as you folks. Brrr. You folks certainly deserve all the trips you can get to the warm climates. Ali~

Spring is usually about 5 days in May! Nah... it's not that bad. When we have a day like yesterday with beautiful blue skies, and temps that really invite us to play outdoors, everyone is happy.

Winter in VT makes STJ that much sweeter.

We actually have a fifth season here. It's affecionately known as Mud Season. We have more miles of unpaved roads than we do paved roads. So as the snow melts ...voilla! Mud Season...it dries up by Memorial Day. Heheheheeee....

<table><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/cY ... site"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_AjE8pZat5pg/Sc2ZJ ... r><td>From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/cidman2001/ ... ite">Funny Crap</a></td></tr></table>

I searched high and low for this classic VT mud season pic, but I couldn't find it. It was a fake where someone had cut the roof off a car and placed it in the middle of this horrificly muddy, rutty road. It looked as if the car had sunk into the mud. If anyone knows of it, I'd love a link.
Still waiting to return to St. John!

Too Funny Cid! Mud season is such a joy. I'm forever re-thinking my routes to make sure I don't get bogged down somewhere.

Shouldn't be a concern today. Lots-o-sun on tap. Might even get another couple of ski runs in before the snow goes...
