Shoemak38...I'm sure your kids aren't that unusual??? LOL!
I have a STJ only toe ring, too. It matches Marcia's STJ only toe ring...it's a thing.

CG- Ya see most of the year we are wearing those blasted shoes here in PA!

I'll admit-
I take a curling iron, hairdryer, makeup, hairspray and jewelry-there I said it.

Other weird stuff: Bubba kegs, magic bullet blender, food-food is weird to pack for a vacation if you think about it.
When will I see St John again?

Great thread, Gromit!

1. Cocktail napkins
2. Ipod speakers
3. Good cheese
4. "Table Topics" cards to spark conversation
5. Virginia peanuts.

I like that table topics idea, IowaGuy

I am not sure how unusual mine are:

1. cooler with meat
2. bacon tree for the microwave
3. door jam alarms
4. ipod that has internet access--very useful (no laptop)
5. portable dvd player/headphones/dvds for the flight and evenings.

I also bring the neat sheet and forgot my gorilla for my camera! I bring water toys too and leave them for the next guests, or housekeeper, who knows. Do you all bring benadril and after sun?? Beef jerky--probably not normal--is something I brought last time and will continue to bring.

1. JIMMY - I don't leave home without him
2. Cane - Can't walk without it
3. Passport - You never know, unless your future husband is Jimmy and he decides to jump in the pool with them in his pant pocket
4. Minimal sunblock lotion - So everyone knows that we were on vacation since Jim is a pale rider. Rider to #4 sunblock 60 for Jimmy's bald head... I love him dude!
5. Camera - To catch all of the amazing (dumb) things my Jimmy will do!!!!!

Still and always cooler than Jim! Dude I'm smiling -

What I didn't bring on my first visit

Post by Lovermont »

My list is made up of things I didn't bring on my first trip, but plan to bring on my second trip. Here goes:

1) Two of my best girlfriends (leaving husband at home)
2) Neat Sheet (thank you forum!)
3) Wind-up lantern to use in the evening
4) iPod dock/speakers
5) My lite-hiker shoes. I got too many blisters hiking with my Tevas & Chacos

And I have a sixth...
I just got the Osprey Porter, a backpack suitcase that is apparently sized to be the maximum size for the overhead compartment. I'm going to try to carry on my luggage, 'cause I don't want my bags delayed like my first visit.

This is fun - I'm getting ideas on the things I need that I never knew I needed!

Here are a few:

1. Bug Spray
2. Bug bite itch cream
3. more bug spray
4. more bug bite itch cream (I usually bring several kinds...)
5. Ipod and docking station

Can you tell that the bugs really love me on St. John? I'm always the one with big red welts all over on the ferry back to St. Thomas - despite all that bug spray....

I leave all the jewelry at home so I don't have to worry about it, but I have to have:

zip lock baggies for so many uses
candles for sitting out at night
brought beach chairs a couple times
zip ties
my favorite clothes (no fancy stuff)
"Paradise...it's a state of mine"

Interesting. That's the same list you find when you ask "What to Take on a Date in East Tennessee."

I am a very light packer, so coming up with anything other than standard items is hard. I guess some odd things I feel I HAVE to have are:

1) My turtle toe ring that I bought on STJ.
2) Roxy zipping speaker case for iPod. Standard speakers are simply not girly-cute enough.
3) Dorky, geeky, uberplanner information that I compile on my computer and print out.
4) Trashy magazines that I only read when on vacay: People, US, etc. I have no idea why, but I must have them on vacation.
5) Chanel Ruban Perle bronzer in Sunlight.

Forgot all about my MASTER PLAN. I have it in a soft binder...not even kidding. I even organize it in the order I'll need things - flight confirmations, car rental info, house info ... it is an illness.
