Five "unusual" things you take to STJ

Post by Gromit »

OK time to play (no running with scissors folks!)

Name five "unusual" things that you feel you must bring with you to STJ (in addition to the basics).

I guess I'm aiming for comfort items that go beyond the obvious like a bathing suit or underwear...

For me they are:

Neat Sheet
Walkie Talkies
Knife Sharpener (whetstone)
Key West Aloe spray aloe vera
Eye shades

Anyone else have anything "unusual" that they bring with them to the islands?

Something that you could probably live without but makes your trip easier or more comfortable?

Spotting scope - we aren't perverts! we like to look at the boats, honest!

Pop up mesh hampers to contain our clutter - One per body for dirty clothes, one small one for toys, and another small one for our reading material and seemingly endless amount of tourist literature that is picked up along the way.

Camping wine glasses - we like to drink wine on the beach

Swim towel - don't know the proper name, it is one of those super absorbing rags

Beer coozies

I'm not sure how unusual these are, but I bring them along. I have some of the unusual stuff previously mentioned, but I figure if it's already mentioned, it's not as unusual as I thought.

Crystal light
hangover medicine
ipod travel speakers (waterproof because I learned my lesson on my first trip)
pages of xerox paper with recipes on them
glow bracelets

waterguy seems as if he is preparing for a Survivor moment:

Bunji cords
rope
Meat
tools
flashlights

What a good boy scout!

I don't bring anything unusual. In fact, I think I bring less stuff when I go to STJ than when I vacation around here in New England.
