Road conditions since Omar
When we were there in December 2003, we found the last part of the "road" to Little Lameshur was really, really bad. Our son was determined to make it, so we persevered and were able to get there and back safely, but not without my closing my eyes and praying a lot.
The road was deeply carved out by the severe rains that hit shortly before we arrived.
I was wondering if the recent downpours that accompanied Omar had done the same damage. I don't know if we will be heading there again or not this time, but if the road is scoured out again, I might just avoid mentioning that particular beach.
Anyone been down there since the deluge?
Thanks
Kris

We drove in last week. The gravel part between 107 and the steep concrete section is a bit washed out and bumpy - watch out for the crown of rocks half-way up. Once you get up and over the concrete section, the low road into Little Lameshur is pothole hell. Omar filled all the guts and salt ponds to overflowing, so some of the road is washed out. 4WD low range is too fast, so anticipate a long drive. The best part? It seperates the men from the boys and you'll be the only one on the beach.
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
