Don't know about you, but this guy and his girl are still wearing shorts. Not white for me since it would show up all the ketchup and bbq sauce stains. Has nothing to do with seasons.California Girl wrote:I always find it amusing when you people east of the Mississippi talk about not wearing white after Labor Day. I guess even some people west of the Mississippi follow the same rules. I've always heard about "people like you", but here in California it's just never been that way. We wear white whenever we feel like it. I just wore my white jeans, sandals and a red tank top today... and went out in public!![]()

Damn fine day out today.
Connie,
I (like you) was raised where you would not dare wear white after labor day. Winter white was acceptable but never white. It's funny because even though I know that it perfectly fine in this day and age, I still don't do it. I guess MrsB is right, we're afraid we'll never be found in a snow storm
XOXO

I don't wear white here in Wisconsin after Labor Day (shoes included) because I grew up with the same rules as the others. However, once you are farther south than say Georgia, you can wear whatever you want, whenever you want, 'cause it's summer there all the time.
Sure is nice chatting about stuff that's not political dontcha think?

I think that seersucker is supposedly taboo after Labor Day. I'm not sure on the eyelet.California Girl wrote:I wonder who came up with that silly rule? How about seersucker? Is that taboo after Labor Day, too? And white eyelet?Xislandgirl wrote:Really, I am from CT and was told to never wear it after Labor Day or before Memorial Day.
Seersucker looks kind of goofy though--especially seersucker pants. I think those should always be "out!"
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
