Is this your first trip to STJ? I think you should decide which location you want to be in - Villa Maddy is in Coral Bay, Summerwind is on Bordeaux Mtn, and Sundance is over in Hart Bay. Coral Bay will be sunrise views and Hart Bay will have sunset views and will be closer to Cruz Bay. I have read g...

Carribean Jewels Villa

Does anyone have any information on this villa? It is offered through DSJ and is way up on Ajax Peak. Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendations! We do need 2 bedrooms - I did not think it would be so difficult to find something but the search continues! We have never been in the summer months so am thinking that the higher elevations would be a little cooler.

Summer rental with inside access

Need your help! We are planning a return trip in July with BF's 10 year old daughter. Looking for a villa that has indoor bedroom access, pool, and a/c. We would like to stay in the Bord. Mtn. area or an area that is higher up to catch some of the breezes.

IMHO, unless you are going for an extended stay or have a large group, it would not be worth the hassle to transport food. When we were newbies, we would stock up at Starfish with the intent of doing a lot of cooking at the villa but found ourselves not doing as much as we first thought. We now just...

We just returned from STJ last week. I also find most of the cashiers at Starfish to be extremely rude but we do most of our shopping there for the convenience. Chicken was $3.99 per pound; milk was $7 per gallon; Corona was $27 per case; case of water $11.99. The market by the Westin is nice but th...

Summer crowds

MY BF has promised his 9 year old daughter a trip to STJ next summer. We want to check out a few villas while we are down there next week. Is the island more crowded in the summer? Are any of the months less crowded?

Ferry to Jost

Planning on taking the ferry over to Jost for a day - do we get it at the regular ferry dock in Cruz Bay or is it by the NPS center?

Crystal Palace location

We will be staying our first night at the Crystal Palace in STT. We would like to catch the 9 am ferry over to STJ. Is the Crystal Palace close to the CA ferry dock - walking distance??
