Re: November Airfare

We fly from Kansas. Use whichever airline is cheapest. Always in the 6-700 dollar range. Have tickets for nov this year and again found some for same price range. Mid 600's.

Re: Odd Question: Sharps disposal on St John?

I've had type 1 over 40 years and travelled a lot. You don't need an official sharps container, just a safe way to dispose so someone won't get stuck on them in the trash. You can drop them into a beverage bottle and reseal the lid then throw it away, put them into a pop can and close the top with a...

Re: Salt Water Pools

Someday Isle had a beautiful salt water pool last time we stayed there. It has sold since then, so I don't know what they may have changed.

Re: Honeymoon Cottage

We've stayed there 2 - 3 times. Has a new owner now and they raised the rates, so we haven't been back since. It's a wonderful location. Terry Witham manages the rentals and she is wonderful to work with. It is a small one room studio type cottage. Very Secluded. Very close to north shore beaches. C...

Re: Roatan

How does it compare for safety. Online info I was reading made it sound unsafe.

Roatan

Has anyone in this well travelled group been to Roatan. How does it compare to STJ. How is lodging, snorkeling, life in general? Thanks. Heard it had the 2nd largest reef in world.

Re: Help with flight choices..

I personally have never noticed a difference in price,(from the Midwest). However, not arriving in STT or leaving STT on a weekend is PRICELESS.

Re: Easy Access beaches and sites

Great Lameshur, Kiddle, and Grootpan are rock beaches, but are very close to where you park. As long as walking over the rocks is ok. Also haulover south is very close to the parking. I too have problems walking long distances and like these.

Re: laundromat

There's a nice big one in Cruz bay. Always smells like clean laundry when you drive by. I think it's near the Health Center. But I could be wrong. Cruz Bay always confuses me.

Re: November - who is on island?

It's been a couple of months since I made reservations, I guess I should check. Can't remember for sure, but it's 2 weeks and we'll be back home for thanksgiving. Can't wait. Must really need the trip, because last week we were at a muddy Kansas lake, riding the horses, and I kept showing my hubs th...

Re: New trip booked

Good luck with the flights. We paid about what we usually pay from KC. In the 6-700 range. That's as good as it gets no matter what my configuration. We went thru San Juan for the first time last year and loved it. Doing it again this year. Much less hectic arriving to and leaving from STT than in a...

Re: November weather

We've gone thanksgiving weekend thru the 1st week of Dec, the last 2 years. Loved it. Flora and fauna are green, air and water warm. It has become our favorite time. Still not crowded. Sometimes Dec winds will kick up and water on north shore gets rough. They were surfing cinnamon. We're going befor...
