1. Since I live here, and have a great many connections to a great many people,I would be much less likely to be frank about individuals or situations if I were not anonymous. People who live in small communities, especially islands, have to be pretty careful. i have no idea how many people who live here read the forum. Not that I often have the urge to say something unkind, but I like to keep my options openjavascript:emoticon(':twisted:')
2. I know absolutely nothing about villas, car rentals, most bars, day trips to Jost, etc. I do know a respectable amount about nature, history and people (at least the ones who've been around a long time) I enjoy sharing information. if you knew my name, it might give me a good deal of credibility, but it would make it less fun for me. Fun is why I'm here (on the forum that is ).
3. My interest in the forum is at least partly voyeuristic. St. John, and the people who come here, have changed immensely since I was last in regular interaction with visitors. I am in some ways still trying to come to terms with what my home has become, and I have learned a lot here. What has this got to do with anonymity? Not much, except that I prefer to be an occasional participant than a total lurker.

Ok, now I much understand. How long have you been so lucky to live in such a awsome place? And do you get to enjoy time without all the visiters there? In other words are you far enough away that it doesn't change your life style much?
