...what effects has it had on stj from a tourist perspective? we were there back in march, and we're going back this coming march...-which seems like a million years ago.

People are still coming. Occupancy down only about 5% from last year. It's still paradise!

peace.... bert

I recently had a friend leave the island after over 20 years. Of course, there were many reasons for the move, but as a restaurant worker, one of the reasons was that more and more people are staying in and eating at the villa and not going out to eat. The island was full of tourists but the restaurants were not.

I know that we will eat in more often on our next trip. It is one way that we are affording the trip.

I think many people will cut back on vacation if they can. Eat in, take the ferry to Jost instead of a charter, etc.

damn, you were supposed to tell me everybody stopped coming and it's even more perfect with the lack of people getting in the way of all the paradise.
