8 Tuff Miles needs your help

Post by stjohnjulie »

Some of you probably have heard of the yearly race we have here called the 8 Tuff Miles. It happens in February, this year on the 28th. They give scholarships out to the winners in the youth group. Last year, Luigi Costello, owner of Verace, donated the entire amount for the scholarships. This year, he is unable to do so because the economy has not been nice to him! So although he will donate, he cannot donate the entire $5,000 needed.
This is where all of you can help. If you can, please donate to the scholarship fund at www.8tuffmiles.com. There is a donate button on the right side. Or you can go directly to the donate page at http://www.active.com/donate/8tuffmilesCSF
Thanks for your help guys! The kids appreciate it!

Julie, can I drop a check off to you next week? And where exactly is Verace? I don't have enough money to go there normally! :D

I'd love to help - Sounds like a great cause...I have always been in awe of anybody who is able to finish that race! Do you run, Julie?

Thank you everyone for the support! No, I am not a runner....My dad has been coming to do the race for the past 6 years. He is 71 now and has been a jogger for years and years and years. He inspired Luigi to take up running a couple of years ago, so now they both do the 8 Tuff Miles. Actually...Luigi is a running junkie! He just did his first marathon in October. Not bad for a guy who took up the sport later in life and has only been at it a couple of years!

Is there such a thing as donating and placing an ad
in 'honor' or 'memory' of someone? Is there printed
material of any kind that goes in conjuctin with the
race?
