End of an Error
End of an Error
I see today as the beginning of the end of the worst error the American electorate has made in my lifetime. Good-bye and good riddance to Misters Cheney and Bush, and the rest of the nest of scoundrels that rode their coattails, from the cabinet members to the congress and senate members. That said, I pray beginning January 20, 2009 that Mr. Obama and the Democratic controlled House and Senate use their near unfettered power wisely.
Now I gotta go. The polls are open!
FOX FAN, I know that you'll be dishing out a lot of crow if the polls are wrong. I think we'd all choke to death on the feathers you'd dish out. But, brother, I gotta tell you...I stuck my nose out the front door just now and I sense a landslide front moving in. Peace and Harmony, JT

When you find yourself in a hole.... quit digging.
Lord knows JT, I really hope you are correct.
I think we'll know a lot more about how the night will play out when Indiana closes at 6pm--
my husband just walked by a polling place in midtown and there was a line about 2 blocks long (at 7 am)

< leaving on the 22nd of march...but too lame to figure out the ticker thing again!>
My friend waited an hour and a half in Alabama this morning. And, they were lining up hours before the polls opened here in Tennessee, and I'd guess both of these states are a done deal. So, that was promising.
I am a little worried because it's raining in VA, NC and SC, and Democrats tend to not go out and vote when it rains. (Don't ask why. I don't know why. It's just a voter trend I learned about and have observed. It's odd to me.)
I don't think it'll be a landslide. I think it will be closer than we think, but I still think that McCain will have to go back to one of his eight (is it eight; I'm not sure) houses tonight and pout.

JT-- I view this as the end of the beginning for this country. I have HOPE and along with my friends and neighbors I do sense that CHANGE is coming and I'm not just talking about the leaves on the trees.
As Robert Kennedy once said: "Progress is a nice word. But change is its motivator. And change has its enemies."
No matter happens today, we all need to remember to respect the process and work together. In doing so we can find the best of this country and our neighbors and move forward to a brighter tomorrow.
"It is not enough to understand, or to see clearly. The future will be shaped in the arena of human activity, by those willing to commit their minds and their bodies to the task."-- Robert Kennedy
I, for one, am doing both.
Peace.

My across-the-street neighbor voted at 10:00am this morning, walked right in and right out. Of course she had the convenience of not going to work today. I unfortunatley was going to be tied up all morning and afternoon with a conference at the hospital, so I thought I'd take advantage and vote early. Seems I wasn't the only one who had that idea!flip-flop wrote:CariBert wrote:I voted last week, and I waited in line for an hour and a half........sure am glad I took advantage of that convenience......![]()

I waited for about 1 hour. The line was long but it moved swiftly in Fairfax.
