Dolphin experience:

I have read about how bad it is for the Dolphins. I really wanted to do that on our last trip but after a little research I couldn't do it.

So,

is there another way? Do any of the charters regularly see dolphins?? I saw something on youtube and thought maybe that would be an option.

Here's a bit of info about dolphins from the Humane Society :

"Whales and dolphins travel long distances each day, sometimes swimming in a straight line for a hundred miles, other times remaining in a certain area for hours or days, moving several miles along a coastline and then turning to retrace their path. These marine mammals can dive up to several hundred meters and stay underwater for up to half an hour. They spend only 10 to 20% of their time at the surface."

Given those behaviors, it's pretty clear that humans don't have much of a chance of locating dolphins. Any time we get to see a dolphin, it's pretty much a gift from the dolphin.

I’ve only seen a few in 36 years that I have been diving. Like Lex said – it’s a gift to see one. On your next trip, you might ask a dive shop if they have seen any in a particular area. It is so cool to see them underwater.
