RAIN, AGAIN

Post by hugo »

After about 2.5 inches in the previous 24 hours, we just got almost 2 inches in 35 minutes! With the ground already saturated, this is pretty dire at the big construction sites---especially Sirenusa, which drains mostly into the upper MarketPlace parking lot.I'm going out now to inspect, if possible....

Hugo I feel your pain. We had record rain (as in the most in one day since they began tracking this stuff in the late 1800's!) on 9/13. Basements were flooded, roads were closed and people along the rivers had real problems -- some evacuated. I had my own personal river and sink hole in the backyard -- we're adding on to our house and although the roof is on the gutters aren't up yet and there are areas that are still open, like around a fireplace, roof vents, etc. (Luckily we're in a rental house during construction so we're not living in the mud.)

I hope what happened to us happens to you, weather wise. Our record rains were followed by perfect sunny, dry weather. Here's sending good weather wishes your way. 8) Good luck and enjoy those nice full cisterns.

Glad you guys are getting rain, but I hope there are no problems. Looks like we'll be right in time for the mosquitos! LOL! Good thing we're on a cliff. :)
