wontons revisited II

Post by wontongirl »

She tells us she will refund the price of one night at Bongo Bongo for having to be out of the house. This is a very nice gesture but I just wanted them to take the covers off of the couch and ALL of the chairs before there was further damage. This may be hard to understand if you didn't see it for yourself but after they cleaned on Thursday, Friday morning there was little drops of oil on the granite countertop. I guess because all the fans weren't wiped down, I just don't know.
I forgot to tell you the real kicker. This was after I asked Katie if she had contacted Cindy (wed evening very late), I asked her if she was going to call the villa owner or how were we to handle that since they were off island. She said she was going to try and clean up the place Thurday am and talk with Cindy and then if things came together there may not be any need to talk to the villa owners about the problem. This is where the zero to B in 2.2 kindof started. Do you blame us? I explained about the blog and how we felt reponsible for this because we knew how much work these guys had put into the villa and all of the problems they had. I told her I felt like they were as particular about things as anyone would be and that this needed to be handled correctly or I was calling them myself. Luckily, after getting Cindy, she called Jeff Thursday afternoon to fill him in on the craziness.
Before we went to the beach bar to get the dinghy, I stopped by to see sweet sweet Ruth. You gotta love her. I told her the whole story and she said she was going to call Jeff and give him our number in case he wanted to talk to us directly. She calmed me down and made me feel better about some things! Jeff called that night and was very glad nobody was hurt. Kent is VERY lucky he wasn't badly burned. Luckily his back was to it. Jeff also called us on Saturday while we were in Charlotte between planes. He is a super nice guy and reassured us he wasn't upset with us and that we had to come back and stay at their villa and that we could even make seafood wontons! No thanks on the wontons. Yes we will be back at bongo bongo! And yes he had a very sexy voice! I can't remember who said that but you were right. He flew in on Saturday and met with Katilady, Cindy and someone that was to do the repairs. I hope all has been corrected with this gigantic mess.
Day6 dinghy story, not so cleaned up kitchen and dinner at Latapa!
I'll tell the dinghy story later cause it's a doozy of a story.

I just read that to the upcoming birthday boy and he said he would prefer to go out for his birthday dinner instead of having a chef come in

can't wait to read the rest of your report, it is great.

Like the others have stated - Thanks for the real story. I guess the bottom line is - some times you have to go from 0 to "B" in 2.2 seconds to get things done.

A doozy of a dinghy story too!

This trip report is terrific, can't wait for the next chapter, so to speak.

I had been thinking about the in villa caterer and massage for the next trip (unfortunately about 446 days away - I tried to talk my daughter into eloping, but...), 50th birthday trip - but maybe just the massage and dinner out.

You poor things! OMG, that was a terrible experience, what a mess. Oh, and the lack of response from Kati.  WOW, and I thought we had a bad villa experience.

I'm glad this is going to be taken care and thank you for sharing this with all of us. We do need to hear it all, the bad and the good.

Anxiously awaiting the dinghy episode! Don't leave us hanging too long!

Oh my goodness. I saw the pictures on the blog of course, but even those don't show the amount of damage you describe! I would have been flipping out too, definitely.

I have to say Kent is very lucky that he was not hurt. I don't think I will be deep frying anything for a while...
